and your gov making a fool out of yourself ```anway join in or not we will keep dumping cheap stuffs in India

Unlike you we actually ELECT our government, so most times they do what we TELL them to do.

I know its a difficult concept for you to grasp, but do try.

Meanwhile, NO means NO. Now do you finally understand ?

ok, then 'tell' your 'ellected' governemnt to build enough toilets, feed 500 million starving malnutrition population, abolish child, woman slavery, and that barbaric caste system first, then to flex your muscle to actually scare someone, until then, you are just a factor driven primitive economy filled with ignorant, uneducated and deluded wannabes``:D

Damn, how many times must India say NO to China?
Doesn't this country understand the meaning of NO?

confusion is when you say no and nod (head moving up and down) instead of shaking your head (moving left and right).

I think it's completely okay for smaller countries to join the OBOR bandwagon. To them it's the easiest way to rope in the much required infrastructure.
But this isn't how it will work for India. To be on a neutral side it's better that we take the position of an observer in OBOR as it will help India monitor OBOR's progress. But then that's my opinion.

From what I have gleaned, there's a very strong reason why India has stayed away from OBOR, and NO it's not merely because of CPEC and Kashmir issue. China,as we all know, runs its trade by expanding its exports. Exports require transportation and sea routes are the best for bulky goods. South China Sea is definitely not the route China would risk taking and Indian Ocean is its best option.
So as much as ppl here would like to deny it, this is a fact ladies and gentlemen that China needs India's help as OBOR progresses.
But then OBOR is gonna hurt our domestic market as Chinese and Indian markets aren't really complementary, actually it will spell doom for India’s economy...or so I heard.
Staying away from OBOR is India's best option to prevent itself from getting its arm twisted by China in the near future.
Let me also remind you that not so far back in history, silk route was not just used for trade but was also used by Mongols to spread their terror.

All the best to OBOR.

True. But small nations should be smart and play one against the other and get the best deal for themselves. After Sri Lanka I thought some of these would have become more cautious. Plus there is also the possibility of a giant country completely buying out a smaller ones leadership. These days analyses has gone down to the level of cheerleading. If you talk numbers the response is sloganeering. I'm sure the Chinese on the forum must be enjoying such subservient and intellectually inadequate behaviour.

India‘s "small role" is a given in the Eurasia big picture, both geographically and historically speaking the subcontinent has always remain a certain degree of isolation and detachment.

So India not wanting to be a part of BRI is quite understandable.. the best China can ask for is India not to be actively against the initiative

Exactly.

India already has sea route access to Iran, GCC, Africa, South Asia and South East Asia.

India would be using INSTC corridor to access Central Asia, Western Russia and Europe.

OBOR/BRI does not have any value to India other than reaching far east Russia and developed part of eastern China.

Genius, since China is the largest shareholder in the AIIB we have effective veto power over how the money is spent.

I guess India never understood what veto power means, be it in the AIIB, the NSG or the UNSC. :P
Genius just keep watching how China invests in India. Its already happening outside of AIIB by companies owned by Government of China

US will never directly fight India and South Asia is never their backyard, you can't say the same about China.
I can. We have nuclear weapons now. China will never directly fight us and South Asia is not Chinese backyard...its ours.

That is why there was regime change - from Nepal to Sri Lanka to Bangladesh. China was reminded by this region is called the Indian subcontinent.

Why should I have a problem with that?

China is making huge amounts of money from India every year, with a colossal trade surplus, and we dominate your markets, like recently taking the majority of the Indian smartphone market.

We sell trains and railways to the Mumbai metro, Delhi metro, Kolkata metro, basically everything of note in India is manufactured in China.

I think that's great, the money is leaving India and ending up in Chinese pockets. India is the one with the giant trade deficit.

Well then. A win-win there.
We love to see Chinese companies setting up factories in India. China is open to build and compete the market just like every other country is welcome.

reality dont point to the same with your rhetoric. Pakistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and now Nepal-

India can remind CHina all she wants.

India is surrounded by China on all sides.

I think this is a case of badly bruised ego. For Indian fancies itself a world power, a superpower in the making. It envies China's economic clout and her vastly superior economic performance. India would very much like to have what China has achieved. To India, the OBOR invitation is an unwelcome reminder of how far India has fallen behind China.

I came to know about China metro coaches after the leaking incidents in Mumbai- since then I think coaches are being made in India because Maharashtra was concerned about Chinese standards-

About Delhi metro- Haven't seen any Chinese coaches- Delhi metro is mainly Broad Gauge- does China make broad gauge coaches ? So far have seen only BEML and Bombardier coaches-

I've seenIndians shake their head while say yes.

India is surrounded by China on all sides.

And this is where some Indians will talk about their fission weapons.
