What's new

India's per capita income rises 7.4% to Rs 93,293

Good.. but a lot more to go.. at the current pace, with the present Govt, in 10 years we should be decently placed.

.
but still there is a lot of income inequality and we have a lot to learn from you guys
A country like China and India, the vast territory and numerous population. There are many similar places. So the problem of India, Chinese can understand. China and India is not small country, every bit of progress is difficult.
Similarly, power every bit of progress is very great, worthy of praise.
A very simple reason.
Contrast China and Singapore. Singapore city rate reached 100%. While China is only 56%. China behind Singapore a lot... But, the rate of China's urban area is 5 million square kilometers... Singapore?
So, the development of India is worth for sure.

. . .
IMF says figures are estimated.

This GNI figure by MOSPI is not an estimate as well?

Tell me which figure released by any country or organisation regarding GDP is not an estimate

Look at the link you posted - http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft...rt=country&ds=.&br=1&c=534&s=NGDPDPC&grp=0&a=

Till 2014, the figures are accurate but from 2014 onward, they are estimates and we can see there is a huge jump in 2014.

Every single number is an estimate (whether it be historic or projection).

Accuracy is a whole different topic.

If you do not like IMF projections, then 99% of the chest thumping BD members do for their nominal GDP per capita goes right out the window given what is shaded here:

http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/weo/2016/01/weodata/weorept.aspx?pr.x=41&pr.y=5&sy=2010&ey=2021&scsm=1&ssd=1&sort=country&ds=.&br=1&c=513,534&s=NGDPDPC&grp=0&a=

i.e the last non-projection figure for BD was around 1000 USD per capita compared to India 1480 USD per capita (Nominal).

You will not be catching up that quickly either:

The golden age of IMF/WB are long gone when they used to hire people from Harvard, Cornell. Now they could hire mostly deshis and most of them have no day job like @Nilgiri. We can assume how accurate their data could be only by looking at their hiring pattern.

Since 1994 WB data shows Myanmar averaged growth 9.4%. With that kind of growth for two decades MM should had been as par with Malaysia now. Where did all those growth gone? Somebody needs to get fired from WB.

A Chinese who appreciates India ? That's a rare Chinese. Thanks.

Don't base your impression on defence forum talk (just look at the BD subforum to know what I mean).

Most regular Chinese are neutral to India at worst.

Finally the cat jumped out of the bag.Indian per-capita income is 74 dollar less than BD. Bangladesh have per capita income 1466 dollar in 2016. I always suspected, BD crossed India in per-capita income already, now Indian govt. is conforming statistically.I wonder, what has to say the Indian big mouth brigade here?

The stupidity of some people still not realising GDP is not GNI.

No wonder the state of patent and science output of their LDC sweatshop ridden swamp....if this is the level of intelligence of their so called "doctors".

No wonder droves of them have to come to India for the most basic of treatments. A very prudent decision indeed.
