Dead right of course! The Bania's will, extort hoard, and export food to earn their money and couldn't care too hoots if their population starved. Even the British knew this in World War 2 when the Marwari grain merchants of Calcutta teamed up with the Army supply contractors to wrest every last pound of rice and wheat for the war being fought in Burma and the Far East. 2-3 million died and today the Indians blame the British for the act of their own selfish hoarders who made millions of pound sterling in the deals,
It is interesting to see how the new Farm bill is going to pan out, The private conglomerates will buy every grain of rice from the farmers at a manipulated price and export the lot. Wild Life protection is enforced in most nations. In the USA you can be imprisoned for killing a deer out of season or killing a fawn or killing a doe ( without license). Despite the fact that the deer population in the USA is in millions.
Question is still relevant:
Why is there a constitutional and legal ban on the consumption of cow meat and cow slaughter in India?
Why isn't there a constitutional and legal ban on the slaughter of buffaloes in India?

Could you answer in the Indian context please without referring to Britain and China?

Also please name ONE other country that has a similar clause in its constitution.

WHY is the slaughter of cows banned?
The Chinese ban the killing of Pandas, tigers and so many other animals protected under wild life.
They haven't banned just ONE animal.
In India you can slaughter a buffalo and Nepalese kill thousands right under your nose.
By the way I am in a country that eats beef to live.
You are welcome to come over just like 3 million of your countrymen who queued up to get visas to migrate over here. Just like another two million who work at beef steak joints as waiters and cooks in the Arab countries. I just love beef.

currently, most Pakistanis, Chinese and Indians are slim and healthy. In my comment, I meant that in the future, if Pakistanis and Chinese eat the same food as Americans, Canadians and Aussies then Pakistanis and Chinese might become fat.
