India today sent 53 tonnes of relief materials to Bangladesh for Rohingya Muslim refugees from Myanmar, who poured into this country following the ethnic violence in the neighbouring Buddhist-majority nation.

The first consignment of India's assistance comes days after Dhaka briefed New Delhi about the problems faced by it due to the influx of these refugees.

"In response to the humanitarian crisis being faced on account of the large influx of refugees into Bangladesh, Government of India has decided to extend assistance to Bangladesh," External Affairs Ministry in New Delhi said in a statement.

The relief material consists of items required urgently by the affected people, namely rice, pulses, sugar, salt, cooking oil, tea, ready to eat noodles, biscuits, mosquito nets etc, it said.

Bangladesh start it's humanitarian afford without Indian assistance which initially only 53 ton. You are not providing any assistance just sending relief goods like other country. I think our army is more then enough to systemically distribution of relief to Rogynga people but financial help and suppot needs to solve situation.

Are you saying there wasn't any mass exodus of your minority from Bangladesh? Human's are not just Muslims, others are Human's too. And for humanity we are sending foods to Bangladesh? That's a humanitarian aid. What do you expect us to do.

Send few condemnations to Myanmar. Warn Myanmar of serious consequences? Sanction them? Do you think that will end Rohingya crisis once and for all? Myanmar do not need India's support just because we are not in UNSC. We are just another neighbor. The show is between Bangladesh and Myanmar. With strong China backing.

With China, there is little that India can do. And strangely you were silent when China backed Myanmar. Yeah I know they pay for your stuffs. Buildings, ships etc...

Similarly, Myanmar deported Indians back in the day, when Military junta took control. We received them without much noises, we relocated them in our country. We didn't ask anyone to sanction Myanmar or attack them.
