In Heathrow, a woman with large breasts was singled out for the pat down.. she said that as she appraoched the security zone .. she noticed 2 male security personal sizing her up and checking her out and then one smugly approached her asking for further checking although she was clear from X ray machine.
she maintains that while checking her both male staff members kept their eyes fixed in her blouse. the people in the que could see what was happening but no one dared to speak up as these security people can abuse their powers by delaying the passengers and causing undue stress.
regarding this incident I am not sure what those racist cow boys were looking for from a respected elderly lady. these red necks have no respect for other cultures and then they wonder why the world hates them.
With all due respect, Heathrow is NOT a US airport, and thus those screeners CANNOT qualify as "cowboys"!
you are very smart my friend..
I am sorry I didnt clarify ... what I meant by "regarding this incident"
I meant to say the incident relating to Indian the diplomat in USA..
I thought to mention what has happend in England already recently after USA demanded tougher screening from UK for the trans-Atlantic flights.
I will just edit my post and clarify that.. so that people are clear that I am referring to the Indian diplomat when I say respected elderly lady
you are so smart that you picked up this point before I could edit my post and clarify that. bravo
respect is one thing but she was a ambassador why such things only happen in US and not in Europe and other places where people have some kind of sense and logic.
To be very honest....
I have a mixed opinion regarding the stringent TSA pat downs....
I can see how they can be rather embarassing for some, and in some cases, simply insensitive and disrespectful....
Nevetheless, this is for our own security....
Would I rather be "groped" and be safe than be a victim of a 9/11 style attack, bombing or a hijacking? I think the former is a better option in the larger scheme of things...
Plus....we all can see the fallout of a 9/11 type incidence....not just in the US but even abroad (South Asians and Arabs in general)...prevention is better than cure....do we need more WOT?
I would rather be safe than sorry....
"Sar salamat to Pagdi Hazaar".....
Tensions With India Grow After US Cheers TSA Groping of Ambassador
Tensions With India Grow After US Cheers TSA Groping of Ambassador -- News from Antiwar.com
US State Department officials are cheering tonight after TSA workers in Jackson, Mississippi subjected the Indian Ambassador to the United States Meera Shankar to an enhanced pat-down on the grounds that she was wearing a sari, traditional Indian garb.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano also defended the frisking of the Indian ambassador, insisting that it was by the book and that diplomats have to subject themselves to the same basic screening as everyone else.
But the sexually-charged pat downs are not basic screening in most of the world, and indeed have sparked a growing outcry from opponents in the United States, though officials maintain that the policy wont change no matter how much popular opposition there is.
In the meantime, however, the US is going to have to contend with some serious fallout over Ms. Shankars groping, and Indias Foreign Minister has already pledged to raise the issue with the Obama Administration.
Indians are already upset by the TSAs policies, and many have complained they are being singled out for being suspiciously dark-colored. The issue became prominent with many Indians after the 2009 detention of movie star Shahrukh Khan.
State Dept Insists 'Enhanced Pat-Down' of Ambassador Perfectly Fine
I heard peswas took pride in their self respect. The way you accept to be groped to live should make you less worthy to have that name. We don't talk about you here. We are here talking about our Ambassador to USA. There is a lot of difference between you and Mrs. Ambassador.
