Indians view US as biggest threat after China, blame on NATO and US than on Vladimir Putin for Ukraine war: survey shows

Lol, you are so delusional, go and ask around what people from other countries think of your claim that India is a TRUTH based society. šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚

Thank you for proving my point.

Your "Rule" is that if OTHERS or "LOT of Others" say/agree on something, it must be the truth.

Indian operate on the principle that even if no body agree or realize, the Truth is the Truth.

And the Truth alone wins in the end. Satyameva Jayate (Mundaka Upanishad) is the Indian National Moto.

Christianity, Islam and communism has Narratives and Rules. Your understanding of everything is within this framework.

India has "Dharma" and "Karma" and "Rta" which is cause and Effect and "Nature of the universe" (truth).

Lol, you should've told me early that what you claimed that India is a TRUTH based country is an idea only shared by Indians themselves.

How can I do that since unlike chinese wumao , I do not claim to know the minds of the rest of the world.

Only state sponsored BBC, DW or Global times and their shrills can claim to speak for the rest of the world.

Indians who stick to the truth can only speak for themselves.

Like I said, we are a Truth based society, not a "rule" based society. That is why propaganda don't work on us, though it does not stop the british, germans or chinese from doing their propaganda because that is their "Rules".

Is this clear enough ?

Indians view US as biggest threat after China, blame on NATO and US than on Vladimir Putin for Ukraine war: survey shows

January 17 2023

  • Respondents said US bigger threat than arch-rival Pakistan
  • 60% of those polled urged Modi to keep purchasing Russian oil
WASHINGTON ā€“ Indians view the United States as the biggest military threat after China and place greater blame on Nato and Washington than on Russian President Vladimir Putin for his war in Ukraine, according to a new survey.

Some 43 per cent of the 1,000 respondents perceived China ā€“ with whom India has a long-lingering border dispute and has seen tensions flare again since 2020 ā€“ as the greatest threat, according to the survey by Morning Consult, a US-based global business intelligence company.

And 22 per cent saw the US as the second-most significant security threat, ahead of Indiaā€™s historic arch-rival Pakistan, the survey showed.

ā€œWhile the worldā€™s two largest democracies would seem to make for natural partners, especially given their mutual mistrust of China, Indians have strategic reasons to be wary of the worldā€™s Western superpower,ā€ according to Ms Sonnet Frisbie and Mr Scott Moskowitz, who oversaw the survey released on Tuesday.

ā€œAs tensions between Washington and Beijing increase, the Indian public may be worried about getting caught in the middle of a US-China conflict that destabilises regional security, putting India at risk.ā€

The concerns reflected in the survey about the risks from Washington persist despite the South Asian nationā€™s closer partnership with the US, Australia, and Japan ā€“ or the Quad, a grouping of democracies formed to counter Beijingā€™s economic and military ambitions.

India has remained neutral on the Russian war in Ukraine despite pressure from its Quad partners ā€“ refraining from United Nations censure votes, while urging a diplomatic solution to ease the food and fertilizer crunch triggered by the crisis. It has also continued to snap up cheap Russian oil.

The survey, conducted on Oct 14-15, found that 60 per cent of the respondents want the government to continue purchasing oil from Russia and 48 per cent of them said Russia should remain Indiaā€™s preferred military equipment provider, compared to 44 per cent for the US.

Some 49 per cent also want Prime Minister Narendra Modiā€™s government to continue military exercises with the country.

More Indians blame the US and Nato for the war in Ukraine because ā€œhistorical ties with Russia formed during the Cold War and Indiaā€™s post-independence period run deeper than Indiaā€™s relatively new relationship with the USā€, said Ms Shumita Deveshwar, senior director of India research at TS Lombard.

Russia as the main supplier of weapons and cheap oil to India is also ā€œembedded in the mindset of the people, and that takes much longer to changeā€, she said. BLOOMBERG

Well, to be honest, India has always been wary of foriegn alliances and cherished its independent policy. Even during the soviet times, India had very closed ties with the Soviet Union but they never made an alliance with the Soviets per se amd still had some sort of ties with the U.S /West.
Eventoday it's the same, India is still not in.an alliance with any power per se. Normal ties with both sides. If they can get benefits from.both then its actually good thing. Even with China with whom they have had a bloody border conflict and casualties. Relations are not hostile to the point of no return. So I'll say they follow a very self independent policy since independence and strangely enough, the country has had a quite stable democratic political system with an established stable/peaceful change of government/leaders with free elections . So not that bad overall.

Taking a Poll is part of your Rule Book.

Poll just collections Opinions, not Facts. You still don't seem to get it.

However here are the Facts.

Modi govt to ban news identified as ā€˜fake or falseā€™ by PIB on social media
This is the latest in a slew of measures by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government that are being seen as efforts to rein in big tech firms

Indiaā€™s government will not permit social media platforms to host any information that it identifies as false, according to a draft proposal of the countryā€™s IT rules released this week.

This is the latest in a slew of measures by Prime Minister Narendra Modiā€™s government that are being seen as efforts to rein in big tech firms.

Any information identified as ā€œfake or falseā€ by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), or by any other agency authorised for fact-checking by the government or ā€œby its department in which such business is transactedā€, would be prohibited under the draft.

Once information was identified as such, social media platforms or other ā€œonline intermediariesā€ would have to ā€œmake reasonable effortsā€ to ensure users do not ā€œhost, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or shareā€ such information, it added.

In October, the government announced a panel would be set up to hear complaints from users regarding content moderation decisions of social media firms, which are already required to appoint in-house grievance redressal officers and executives to co-ordinate with law enforcement officials.

The government has also repeatedly been involved in tussles with various platforms when they failed to heed demands that certain content or accounts be taken down for allegedly spreading misinformation.

Now Guess WHO will be crying the MOST after this bill becomes the Law ?

BBC and Global Times and DW and the likes. LOL.

An ancient Indian saying goes, what you see with your eyes are false, what you hear with your ears are false only a good investigation is better. Chinese media is one sided and none can question them! Indian media questions every media outlet backing it with certain speculation and certain element of truth. No matter what when a particular view point becomes popular counter viewpoints does emerge out there. Currently there is the popular Hindu voice making it's strides, which is bound to happen as they were muffled for way too long. Seeking truth is a quest, when only propaganda is permitted and nationalism supercedes human value, truth is lost. Hence nation-states are rule- based. When a country is truth based, they do not easily agree to popular viewpoint and question it for their betterment. You actually have Indians who ha e openly embraced pro-pakistani or pro-chinese viewpoints despite their national inclination.

LOL, Sure, Indian media is world reknowned for a reason

Besides, during pre covid years, 160 million Chinese travel overseas every year and got first hand experience on the differences between living in China and abroad, how many Indians actually have a chance to do this first hand personal comparison?
