Indians too poor to buy iPhone US blogger draws flak

Being an iPhone user myself, The main reason for iPhones not being in common in India is because of two factors.

1. Cost (Purchase and Service)
2. Better Alternatives for a fraction of cost(OnePlus, Mi, Redmi, Honor, Asus). We are proud baniya's and a common household (Middle and lower middle class) will think 10 times before buying an iPhone and they will go with Android.

Even with this so called reality the Tourism Industry in India is flourishing YOY while some of our neighbours are still struggling to with making few international teams to play on their soil. Let alone tourism. LOL :lol::lol:

What are these so called complicated tech in any of the Smartphones?? If you can please ENLIGHTEN. :p:
I wouldnt know, I'm not one of those people that finds it complicated.

There is PLENTY wrong with a Nation being called poor.

Only someone who was accepted poverty and corruption and CONgress rule as natural order of things , would find nothing wrong with being poor.

For most normal people, poverty and deprivation is an exception, not the rule.

I don't think you understood:

There is nothing wrong with being called poor. There is everything wrong with being poor.

I have seen several BPL CARD HOLDERS depositing upto 20/30 lakhs in the accounts of family members... like 1,98,000 in each account...

This is why GST and demonetization is a pain in few people's a$$...

I don't think I purposefully dragged you into this discussion. Maybe an accident. If so really sorry. :D
ahaannn do you think i am a monkey worshipper? dont be ridiculous .use you supposedly "iphone" & gain some knowledge . :) .

Hard to use? iPhones are probably the easiest phones to use. They are made for people that have issues operating complicated technologies. No offense to anyone.

I use samsung note 8 and iPhone 8... I'll say note 8 is a beast and real value for money... while iPhone is a status symbol...

In a very funny incident... my cousin from village was flaunting his iPhone 5s and calling Note 8 INFERIOR... And after few details provided by me... he was like... ok, It is just a phone by Samsung... even a rickshaw puller has phones of Samsung... and I was like... bro, your are beating some of the PDF posters in trolling :) by a HUGE margin...

Well keep thinking... I can show you several Indians... specially in villages, who live very simple life... due to cultural difference foreigners think that they are poor... having said that... I would agree the poverty is a problem in India and A LOT is required to eradicate it...

They must first focus on building toilets rather than buying used Iphones....

so we are buying used iPhones from...

What the lady said was true about Indians. Most Indians are too poor to buy an iPhone.why to get upset with Her. It's just a sleek product. out of choice I have been using a Samsung although I can get iPhone or Samsung's virtually free on my contract.

One can do both.

Don't understand what you are trying to convey

I don't think you understood:

There is nothing wrong with being called poor. There is everything wrong with being poor.

And you are wrong again. There is nothing wrong in BEING poor if it is due to circumstances and lack of opportunity

But there is plenty wrong in calling somebody poor. Its the same as calling a blind man Blind or a black man "nigger'.

There is a strong Negative connotation attached to calling someone poor. It implies either stupidity or laziness and disregards circumstances and exploitative nature of the western (un)civilization.

"Truth" is a dangerous thing to be said out loud with a sneer.

For example if I start sharing the "truth" about the chinese eating habits or about the truth about Islam and its prophet, it will get people banned from this forum.

How is that relevant ?

What u say is also true. The article was rude and not in good.taste but does not take away the truth. Just ignore it.

Under which category would you put a BPL CARD HOLDER... Relevant???

I don't care under which category you put BPL card holders since that is irrelevant.

I myself have a BPL card made a LONG time back, and even then I was from the middle class. The person who came to make the card advised my mother to make a BPL card since we had everything to gain and nothing to loose by asking for one. And she took his advice and got a BPL card made.

Point it, BPL card has no relevance when estimating the number of poor in India or calculating our per capita Income. Mean or Median.
