In my country(NZ) we have these criminals that wash windows of cars during traffice stops. Now, they wear their attire to look like they're homeless, poor, dirty, but don't be fooled. Some of them have decent jobs, and a good home. The reason why they do it because even though it's shameful, the pay off is huge. Lets look at the folow example: A busy road that leads for a highway has a traffic stop, the light changes to green in about a minute. These window washers come in groups; so 1 minute to clean as many car windows as possible; each person who is generous will give an average of 2-4 dollars. At least more than a 200 cars pass that traffic stop; out of the 200 perhaps only 40% decide to pay the window washers, do the math; that's a lot of money.

Nowhere it tells they are begging in India. And I think India may not be the right place for begging. I visited India twice and in my limited experience found hardly any beggars. I have a notion that Bangladeshis are much more liberal about giving alms than Indians.
