Please do point out to me where Bhaskara has explained the universal law of gravitation. The inverse square law. That's what Newton brought to the table. That's what I said, about modern understanding. (Although to be very pedantic, you would have to take into account the relativistic anomalies.)

Since you are very interested in Jinnah and Iqbal, I would mention that there are some personal accounts about them by Nehru. Rather unflattering towards Jinnah in some places. IIRC, there is an account somewhere in it where Nehru claims that Iqbal told him privately that Jinnah is just a politician, but Nehru is a true statesman. (Something like that, I read it long back.)

Anyway keeping all the personal views aside, it's a fascinating read about the subcontinent's history.
