@Andromache i agree with you and you can read in my post i did objected her arrest.... However she wasnt arrested for commenting on mumbai bandh.... She was arrested for commenting on death of late bal thackeray.... She said people like bal thackeray born and dies everyday.... As far as i know he the only one who worked for maharashtra.... So her comments wasnt good specialy to people who worship bal thackeray.... To many maharashtian people he was similar to Dr. Ambedkar.... Would she say same thing about Dr. Ambedkar?.... Both of them worked for Marathi people.... If police had not arrested her than many more would had said same thing and than there was chance of riots and action against Facebook.... So to maintaned peace they arrested her. If she not had commented on death and just commented on mumbai bandh than yes it would had been shame on police.... Btw some people here on PDF (indians) saying worse.... So may be they should rethink before its too late.... i heard internet searching going on.... If they find PDF threads than am sure it might get blocked and they might search the indians who spoke about death of bal thackeray (in bad taste)....

He was a thug but keeping that aside. If this news is true then you India are closer to the taliban than being a true democracy. Yes thousands like that guy die everyday- she is spot on. Ignorant people worship thugs. BTW you guys ( some) incite religious bias against each other everyday and nobody gets arrested. shameful , disgraceful if this ultimately turns out to be true...

Secondly- I'm of Indian heritage but I'm an american . I did not come land here a few years ago, I've been an american since early childhood. I lived here longer than my few years of childhood in India.

Turns out, the same Pakistanis who were dissing us then, all came around later when something similar hit you.

Its nice being an armchair idealist.

Accept it guyz. What happened was wrong. IF it was Shiv Sainiks who wud have done the same, then it was a different story but the state body doing this is something against freedom of speech.

Also, the reason police too this action was that they themselves are hardcore supporters of Bala Thackarey and this statement by da gurl did hurt their sentiments.

You are getting confused about the topic at hand. are the Pakistanis here commenting two faced ? absolutely no doubt about it. they are not concerned about a democracy/ rights within- they want to score points. But does that absolve the utter rubbish of arresting the girls under the constitution I knew of India and what it's founding fathers intended it to be . 100%. This "confused desi american" is far from being confused about what democracy India fought for...
