Good to know that. USA is not bad for raising your kids but as parent you want to protect them. Two of my cousins came back to India after living in US for more than 20 years. They didn't want to raise their daughters in US. Now the daughters who are US citizens want to go back and study there for their masters.

Every middle class family that I know here want to send their kids outside for either higher studies or for jobs. One estimate is there are 25 million Indian diaspora residing outside India. That is the population of Australia.

Australia is a leader in education much better than the US and UK, that's why so many Indians want to come here and study and try and get PR.

The government is paralyse on these type of issue, you can look at how the boat crisis sometime back. We need a country that are strong in the spine and not swinger like the current government, then, maybe then, we can do something about border security.

Maybe at a primary and secondary level..
But higher education, no way!!
US and UK dominate the higher education totem pole. Not a single Australian University even ranks in top 10 of world rankings. So your claims are more your personal opinion than based in reality.

My wife is a dentist in public sector, some of refugees are fleecing the system like there is no tomorrow, especially people from Africa or middle east, they'll have six-seven kids, get a health care card and then pretty much everything is free for them. I have to spend $750 just for a minor issue with my teeth and they can get it done for 20 bucks. My wife was telling me the other day, the ladies come to get their kids teeth checked in public system are driving Mercedes. It makes my blood boil when middle income earners like us hand over 40% for tax...If you are a middle income earner you are pretty much shafted by the tax man..

I know exactly what you mean as I'm in the employment services industry and I come across so many of these people everyday who have been living on dole since the day they first stepped on Australian soil. They just do not want to work & keep giving reasons. When we cut off their Centrelink payments by PRing them, they find some loophole to get their benefits resumed back again. We feel frustrated watching them enjoying taxpayers hard earned money. We find them jobs, help them with their interviews, travel money, clothing, shoes etc., and in some cases repair their cars/pay for their registration...the works. All we want them to do is go there and start work, but no, they don't. After taking all that is offered to them, they just don't turn up to work.

Like you said Libs are comparatively better, labor would probably let everyone come in.
