Amnesty International defines racial profiling as the targeting of individuals and groups by law enforcement officials, even partially, on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion, except when there is trustworthy information, relevant to the locality and timeframe, that links persons belonging to one of the aforementioned groups to an identified criminal incident or scheme.

National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO), a Central Indian Government Body, confirm this. Its surveys show that Muslims, India’s largest religious minority, are the most backward community on the educational front. According to it, Muslim ratio in higher education is lower than even the Scheduled Tribes (STs) who are considered to be the most backward community.

The blame for Muslim backwardness in education is mainly lies in Muslims itself..Most of the shunned education in the earlier stages..Government cant pressurise each and every one for education..On the other hand other minorities like Christians have better living conditions than Muslims because they give emphasis on education...State like Kerala Muslims have high educational back ground ..

A Glimpse of Secular India - Heaven for Muslims


During the Mumbai communal riots of 1992-93 when the former Joint Commissioner of Mumbai police R.D. Tyagi and his team entered the Sulaiman Usman Bakery at Muhammad Ali Road and the way they massacred unarmed and innocent people and subsequently declared them “rioters” and “murderers” and justified the unprovoked firing by the police, their brutal massacre was described as “encounter” and the firing was described as in “self-defence.” This is not lost on people who have experienced those days or gone through the Shri Krishna Commission’s report.

During the Mumbai riots of 1993, Mumbai’s former Joint Police Commissioner Tyagi and his police team had killed unarmed and innocent Bakery workers who had taken refuge there during the curfew, simply because they belonged to the minority community. Thereafter, the same police team forced their entry into the nearby Madrasa Darul Uloom Imdad and continued their orgy of brutalities in which a Madrasa teacher and its students were killed and more than 85 other students and workers were injured against whom false cases were registered for attacking the police and killing police officers, rioting etc. Twelve innocent Muslims were also killed in police firing.

When Muslims and secular-minded people demanded judicial enquiry into Mumbai riots, an enquiry commission headed by an honest judge of Mumbai High Court was appointed which exposed thread-bare the false accusations of the Mumbai police. Whatever happened in Sulaiman Bakery during the riots of January 1993 was in fact a brutal massacre of unarmed and innocent people by biased personnel of security forces and for hiding this massacre accusations were made up against the unarmed and innocent Muslims claiming that they “attacked” the police with stones, bricks and iron rods and hence police had to fire at them in self-defence. The enquiry found this claim to be totally false and concocted. Subsequently, on the basis of this judicial enquiry report cases of murder against R.D. Tyagi and 18 police personnel who were complicit along with him in this massacre were filed which are still pending for hearing.

No they wont be..Gujrat Home minister is in CBI custody for alledged involvement in the killing of a gangster and he is questioning by CBI..usually the cases of India will take time ..Even mumbai trials last for 1 year with all the proofs..its natural in India Judiciary..Judiciary always upheld the free and fair trail..there are cases who is pending for 25 years still waiting for results..One discussion with Taimi he said that its the same in Pakistan too ...

The situation is Muslims in India is much better than those in Pakistan. After independence there is less Muslims died in India than Pakistan.

i can understand a certain level of discrimination against muslims in the days when the public sector dominated. however, even then a large % of government hiring was meritocratic (IAS level and officers one level below that have always been inducted by transparent exams). today, the private sector is many many times bigger than government employment.

apart from gujarat, i've never heard of private sector discrimination against muslims. so while discrimination has played some role in their backwardness, its not a major cause of it.

its depends on the type of Muslims in India...there are a very large chunk of progressive Muslims who are highly educated and rich while there are also many orthodox Muslims who only teach their children in madarssas and make them devoid of even basic education....same applies to Hindus....the fact that Christians are India's most educated community and Sikhs are India's richest community clearly shows that there is no such profiling in India...as far as Indian forces are concerned not even an common Hindu upper class(not caste) Indian has faith on them let alone minorities......

as far government and constitutional profiling is concerned it i government that takes on surveys to check the status of Indian minorities and do some better to them...the same government which then elected by common people....the biggest proof of India's secularism is overwhelming victory of congress and Manmohan Singh by the the so called EVIL HINDU INDIA!!!!

Any other particular reason to post the same things again and again??from the day i joined here i am discussing the same thing again and again in this forum..every 2 days a thread about Indian muslims poor conditions is opening here..whats the purpose mate other than bashing?Members here become violent when talking or connecting Islam to a terrorist attacks but no problem calling Hindus monkey worshipers,cow piss drinkers,evils and all sorts of name..I am sure that this thread it will be the same..
