You clearly need to educate yourself on the role of Pakistan in Afghan Soviet war.

Pakistan has to realign its foreign policy. U.S is increasing distancing itself from this region and it main foreign policy concerns are regarding china. Since china and pakistan have been strategic allies for decades it will be a waste of time and resources to bribe up a pakistani alliance against china as it did against the soviets. So the future U.S policy is going to be centered around containing china, which will include buttering up india and keeping limited contact with pakistan.
Using india to contain china may also proof useless since china and india have no real point of contact. Japan and korea will be america's main partners while india will be an honorary partner but will take precedence over pakistan.
Pakistan can and should make india dependant on the energy and trade routes going through pakistan to india and it will give indians fewer incentives to maintain hostilities and at the same time we will remain geopolitically relevant.
