In a viral video from Bihar, a man is seen doing sit-ups in front of a crowd. Five sit-ups were his “sentence” for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl.

The video is from a village in Bihar's Nawada district.

The man allegedly took the child to his poultry farm with the promise of chocolates and raped her. When the man was caught and produced before the village council, or panchayat, the elders decided not to turn in him and pronounced their own verdict. The man was not guilty of rape, they decided. They only punished him for taking the girl to a secluded spot.

A video of the “punishment” has sparked outrage on social media, with many calling it out as proof of patriarchy and skewed justice in rural India.

Users flagged the video to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, demanding to know whether the state government would allow the crime to go unpunished.

Superintendent Of Police Gaurav Mangla said that an FIR has been registered and action will be taken against the accused. The police are also investigating those who tried to suppress the incident, he said.

You won't see many Indians commenting in this thread, they don't see fit to condemn such actions.

Where are the ghouls that shout Abdul, Mullah and Jihadi on every crime committed by a Muslim yet are silent as crickets now?

Disgusting Vedics

These Kangaroo courts were created by Brahman Jawahar Lal Nehru leader of upper caste party Congress. So, that the landlords of village can be judge jury and executioner. It is one of the cunning schemes of casteist baniya Gandhi, in the guise of decentralization. Actual motive was suppressing caste and religious based crimes on minorities.(Panchayat analogous to tribal Jirga if you want to understand) Jinnah was right about Gandhi, you guys just fortunately dodged a trap.

Th e system later came to be known as Panchayati Raj, which was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 2 October 1959 at Nagour in Rajasthan.

While, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar believed that the village represented regressive India, a source of oppression. He argued against Panchayats as he was apprehensive about the continuation of caste Hindus hegemony. Further he opined that villages in India were caste-ridden and had little prospects of success as institutions of self-government.

Gandhi was just a product of political marketing. Just a leader or actor propped up by upper castes. just like Modi is a product of marketing, another leader or actor propped up by upper castes.

Thats because most Indians don't consider UP & Bihar as part of their country. They especially the rural people from these areas are dehumanised in other states and are considered as a lost cause.

Indians don't even know or want to talk about what's happening in their red corridor or seven sisters..the red corridor is one of the poorest regions yet.. the bollywood cosmetics and soft image saves attention from going there.

SH*T.
You live in 2022, not 1942. Gandhi has been dead for 70 years, why are you still blaming him?
Clearly you are making excuses for Modi and his party.
