সুন্দরবনের কাছাকাছি বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র নির্মাণে সরকারের অবস্থান অনড়। বিদ্যুৎ প্রতিমন্ত্রী বলছেন, সুন্দরবনের ক্ষতি এড়াতে ব্যবহার করা হবে সুপার ক্রিটিক্যাল প্রযুক্তি। কিন্তু বিশেষজ্ঞরা বলছেন, উন্নত প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহারের ফলে হয়তো বিষাক্ত সালফার গ্যাস কমানো যাবে, কিন্তু তা শূণ্যের কোঠায় নামিয়ে আনা সম্ভব নয়।

এদিকে কয়লাভিত্তিক বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্রের প্রভাবে প্রকৃতি ধ্বংসের উৎকৃষ্ট উদাহরণ যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের টেক্সাস। এমন পরিণাম হতে পারে সুন্দরবনেরও।

যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের টেক্সাসে কয়ালাভিত্তিক বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র স্থাপনের ফলে বড় বড় পেকানসহ অধিকাংশ গাছের মৃত্যু হয়েছে অকালে। কেন্দ্রটি নির্মাণ করা হয় আশির দশকে। নির্মাণের ২০ থেকে ২৫ বছরের মাথায় ৩০ কিলোমিটার দূরত্বে থাকা প্রকৃতির অবস্থা এখন করুণ। উন্নত বিশ্বের এমন ভয়াবহ উদাহারণের পরেও সুন্দরবনের মাত্র ১৪ কিলোমিটার দূরে কয়লাভিত্তিক রামপাল বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র নির্মাণের সিদ্ধান্ত সরকারের। সাধারণ মানুষ বলছে, বিদ্যুৎ প্রয়োজন, তবে সুন্দরবনের ক্ষতি করে নয়।

india cancelled same project on indian side of the border close to its forest on environmental ground BUT hell bent to destroy Bangladesh side of the world heritage site and symbol of Bangladesh.

Even in purely commercial consideration, information how india and their stooge awami league sold Bangladesh

1) india investing just 15% will be in control of Rampal power plant.
2) Bangladesh will be importing and transporting coal and will be responsible for any accident and environmental disaster.

In Environmental consideration, over 250 ton of toxic gas will be disaster for the largest mangrove forest and its animals. Not to mention increase of temperature will kill trees and destroy marine life and fishery.

Rampal project is another indo awami looting scheme

Journalist Subhashis Banerjee in his analysis revealed awami looters already planned to buy electricity more than double the market price. Similar coal plant in elsewhere PDB will buy per unit electricity at 3.8 taka rate but in Rampal it was fixed at almost 9 taka. Not only that coal price was fixed at higher per ton rate so more looting can be done from coal import. Power generation became big looting scam for awami looter and Rampal is latest example.

পরিবেশবাদীদের সমালোচনা সত্ত্বেও ২০০ কোটি ডলার অর্থায়নে রামপাল কয়লা বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র নির্মাণের চুক্তি হয়েছে। আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে এই চুক্তিটি করেছে বাংলাদেশ ও ভারত। রামপালের বিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্রটি হবে দুই দেশের সমান অংশীদারিত্বের ভিত্তিতে। প্রকল্পটি বাস্তবায়নের লক্ষ্যে দুই দেশের প্রতিনিধিদের সমন্বয়ে বাংলাদেশ-ইন্ডিয়া ফ্রেন্ডশিপ পাওয়ার কোম্পানি নামে একটি কোম্পানিও গঠন করা হয়েছে। এই প্রকল্পের অর্থায়ন করবে ১৫% পিডিবি, ১৫% ভারতীয় পক্ষ আর ৭০% ঋণ নেয়া হবে। যে নীট লাভ হবে সেটা ভাগ করা হবে ৫০% হারে। উৎপাদিত বিদ্যুৎ কিনবে পিডিবি। বিদ্যুতের দাম নির্ধারিত হবে একটা ফর্মুলা অনুসারে। সেই ফর্মুলাটি কী?

যদি কয়লার দাম প্রতি টন ১০৫ ডলার হয় তবে প্রতি ইউনিট বিদ্যুৎ এর দাম হবে ৫ টাকা ৯০ পয়সা। প্রতি টন ১৪৫ ডলার হলে প্রতি ইউনিট বিদ্যুৎ ৮ টাকা ৮৫ পয়সা। অথচ দেশীয় ওরিয়ন গ্রুপের সাথে মাওয়া, খুলনার লবন চড়া এবং চট্টগ্রামের আনোয়ারা তে যে ৩টি কয়লা ভিত্তিক বিদ্যুৎ প্রকল্পের যে চুক্তি হয়েছে পিডিবি’র সাথে সেখানে সরকার মাওয়া থেকে ৪ টাকায় প্রতি ইউনিট এবং আনোয়ারা ও লবন চড়া থেকে ৩টাকা ৮০ পয়সা দরে বিদ্যুৎ কিনবে। সরকার এর মধ্যেই ১৪৫ ডলার করে রামপালের জন্য কয়লা আমদানির প্রস্তাব চূড়ান্ত করে ফেলেছে। তার মানে ৮ টাকা ৮৫ পয়সা দিয়ে পিডিবি এখান থেকে প্রতি ইউনিট বিদ্যুৎ কিনবে, সেটা নিশ্চিত।
