Indian origin scientist tells why aliens can’t contact us

Perhaps aliens are invisible and do not wish to be disturbed, or they exist in other dimensions. In 1940s they visited regularly after the nukes in Hiroshima. Now they are mostly bored with the amount of self-destruction caused by this peculiar species.

How can we be sure that aliens haven't contacted us?

Even if 99.9% of UFO sightings can be explained away, can we be 100% sure that they ALL sightings are figments of imagination?

The 2006 ohare airport sighting was by around 12 perfectly sane airport staff including a pilot and a co pilot. Didn't President Carter say he saw an UFO - can we ever be sure that NONE of these are real UFO sightings?

Who knows maybe aliens have contacted us but we are not aware...or may be they have not.....

can you enlighten me with the details of your great thoughts which provoked you to write this ?

Because all electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed to that of light in a definite media, irrespective of wavelength or frequency.

this could have been described in your first comment where you just tried to make a fun of me.
every one is not so educated about the scientific things. Thanks for the answer.

If you don't know, it's better to keep quite on things. Rather than giving definitive answers on those topics.

Every human can do mistakes, more important is that he or she agrees to correct them. and there are multiple ways to correct them. Correction through Humiliation shows a narrow mind.

there is no intelligent life in all of the universe (earth inclusive)

Sydney: If the search for an alien life has not yielded any conclusive results in the last 50 years, it is probably because life on other planets was brief and has gone extinct soon after its origin owing to runaway heating or cooling on their planets, say astrobiologists led by an Indian origin scientist.

“The universe is probably filled with habitable planets, so many scientists think it should be teeming with aliens,” said Aditya Chopra from Australian National University (ANU).

“Early life is fragile so we believe it rarely evolves quickly enough to survive,” he added in a paper published in the journal Astrobiology.

“Most early planetary environments are unstable. To produce a habitable planet, life forms need to regulate greenhouse gases such as water and carbon dioxide to keep surface temperatures stable,” Dr Chopra added.

About four billion years ago the Earth, Venus and Mars may have all been habitable. However, a billion years or so after formation, Venus turned into a hothouse and Mars froze into an icebox.

“Early microbial life on Venus and Mars, if there was any, failed to stabilise the rapidly changing environment,” said co-author associate professor Charley Lineweaver.

“Life on Earth probably played a leading role in stabilising the planet’s climate,” he noted.

According to Dr Chopra, their theory has solved a puzzle.

“The mystery of why we haven’t yet found signs of aliens may have less to do with the likelihood of the origin of life or intelligence and have more to do with the rarity of the rapid emergence of biological regulation of feedback cycles on planetary surfaces,” he explained.

Wet and rocky planets, with the ingredients and energy sources required for life seem to, be ubiquitous. However, as physicist Enrico Fermi pointed out in 1950, no signs of surviving extra-terrestrial life have been found.

A solution to Fermi’s paradox, say the researchers, is near universal early extinction which they have named the “Gaian Bottleneck”.

“One intriguing prediction of the ‘Gaian Bottleneck’ model is that the vast majority of fossils in the universe will be from extinct microbial life, not from multicellular species such as dinosaurs or humanoids that take billions of years to evolve,” Lineweaver pointed out.

As I understood Neil degrasse Tyson saying that Carbon, Helium, Hydrogen and Oxygen are the 4 most common elements in the Universe and of them Carbon is by far the most likely to react to form an organic compound there is a pretty good chance that just as Carbon reacted to form us there might be other carbon based life forms out there now that we know that our Universe is not only vast beyond imagination but also one of many Multiverses !

Fermi's paradox is an outdated theory and a crude calculation. It was demonstrated recently that the probability of intelligent life in the universe is very very low. I saw a documentary about this modern calculation on the probability of intelligent life somewhere on the internet. But cant find it anymore. Looks like it has gone down the internet black hole. Anyway the point is that this outdated theory of high probability of intelligent life is only for popular consumption. The elite global academia knows that its otherwise.

If you ever find it, post it up, I for one would be interested to view.

Even if the probability of intelligent life is very very very low,the universe (multiverse) is so enormous that the lowest probability could still exist, in fact does exist as we are proof....and thus could exist elsewhere too.
