Thanks for sharing. It was indeed a heart wrenching story. I have kids myself, so I can imagine the pain those parents have suffered. The question is if Indian students study so hard, why so many of them graduate to be "unemployable". Blaming the problem on socialists seems to be out of place.

1)Lack of opportunities
2)Going to Colllege gets you a job with a higher salary than if u don't go.The Problem is there aren't that many college level jobs these days. There are very few. I mentioned the flaws in the colleges+lack of communication & soft skills among Indians. These make many college youth unemployable.

Due to the lack of the jobs + over emphasis on college education & the no. of college graduates out there. Many are unemployed or unemployable. They are being forced to apply for even lowly govt. jobs which are safe jobs(u never get fired).

Many of them are unemployable,but they are hard working. After a crash course of about a few months, they are made employable by Skill workshops & companies to work.

The entire blame shouldn't be placed on the socialists. But a large part of it lies with them & their understanding of economics according to me.
A large part of the blame lies with our politicos & bureaucrats for not changing & evolving our education system & encouraging vocational educations & getting manufacturing jobs to our nation.

You chinese are really lucky you had Deng Xiopang to change the course of your nation & understand what was wrong with Socialism otherwise you wouldn't be where you are today

If we can manage the same tempo in the last quarter, Defence is really good but 4th quarter is where we lose the steam. Lost to germany in last 4 seconds ... and missed out on a win after failing to score from some 7 penalty corners on trout against Argentina at full time.

I hope nobody blames the BJP/Modi if we get 0 medals this time. I don't see how he can responsible if such a disaster happens

There it goes.

The last shooting event's qualification are just over, and no Indian made it to the finals of that event.

This means that India wins precisely zero medals in Shooting, a sport where we have won a medal since 2004, and where we were "expected" to win at least 4-5 medals according to the Indian Shooting Federation.

How did it go so horribly wrong. What happened?

China has missed at least 7-8 gold medals so far in Rio.
Worst Olympics ever since Sydney.
Rules have changed a lot in shooting.
Many shooters who rank top3 couldn't even make it to the final!

Well Modi did meet all the athletes before they left for Rio, so we can expect few articles or couple of prime time debates on it.

This is not entirely true. While Deng Xiaoping opened up Chinese market and started the economic reform, he also turned Chinese education system into market driven industries. Before Deng, every Chinese college graduate was virtually GUARANTEED to get a job that matches his/her major in the college. Now graduates have to find their own opportunities in the market place.
