Salalah, April 14 (ONA)---Three vessels of the Indian Navy today visited Salalah Port to train juniors. The four-day visit comes within the framework of enhancing friendship between the Sultanate and the Republic of India.

These vessels are part of the training squadron /1/ of the Indian Navy stationed at the Southern Marine Command in Kochi, which trains officers, students and sailors in different fields.

In a press statement, the commander of the training squadron expressed his joy over the visit and hailed the deep rooted bilateral relations between the two countries. Oman is an important partner and a key country in the region. It is important that we regularly maintain military level dialogs with them. After all, we both monitor some of the most notorious waters in the world.

How's Oman's navy like?

A couple or more corvettes, A few patrol boats and fast attack crafts, with a few new ones on the way i believe. I've only seen a couple of these dock every now and then. Oh and the Sultan has the world's 3rd largest super-yacht but I don't really have a clue as to why that's conglomerated with the rest of the navy.

Oman has a very good relation with India. The Sultan studied in India and heard that Shankar Dayal Sharma was his teacher. As i know he did his military education in NDA, pune. Lot of indians as citizens too.. Probably the only country in middleeast with previous indian passports as citizens.
