Indian Navy test fires advanced version of BrahMos missile

The Indian Navy successfully test-fired a long-range version of the BrahMos cruise missile on Saturday. In a tweet, the Navy said the test-firing validated the long-range precision strike capability of the BrahMos missile.

"Long range precision strike capability of advanced version of BrahMos missile successfully validated. Pin point destruction of target demonstrated combat and mission readiness of frontline platforms. Yet another shot in the arm for Aatmanirbhar Bharat," the Navy tweeted.

The Navy conducts regular tests of the BrahMos, one of the world's most lethal cruise missiles.

India, in November 2020, tested a land-attack version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Meanwhile, in December last year, the air version of the BrahMos missile was tested when it was fired by supersonic fighter aircraft Sukhoi 30 MK-I. The test was carried out from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, off the coast of Odisha. The successful test-fire of the fighter jet was a major milestone as it cleared the stage for the serial production of the air version of the BrahMos missiles within the country.

Where is the evidence to the claim that it destroyed the target with pin point accuracy.

Just a hollow claim being made by the Indians with no evidence to back it up.

We need to do a lot of stuff, but it costs $. Naval programs are not like Army or Air Force ones, they are ridiculously expensive and take a long time to finish.

We have full backing of China. There is nothing to worry.

trying to go for military parity with India is a losing battle, Pakistan will overreach and it will take resources away from the civilian population. It's in everybody's best interest to be good neighbor and trade.

India has no chance of competing with China and Pakistan.

In the next few years Pakistan will have superior navy to India.

Trade with who? A hindutva extremist communal state?

Which ship was it launched from? It’s an impressive weapon for sure.

They claim it was fired by their destroyer.

INDIAN NAVY SUCCESSFULLY FIRES EXTENDED RANGE BRAHMOS LAND ATTACK MISSILE

Posted On: 05 MAR 2022 7:24PM by PIB Delhi

The Indian Navy successfully demonstrated the accuracy of an extended-range land attack Brahmos supersonic cruise missile from the stealth destroyer INS Chennai, on 5th March, 2022. The missile hit its intended target with pinpoint accuracy after traversing an extended range trajectory and performing complex manoeuvres.

Both Brahmos missile and INS Chennai are indigenously built and highlight the cutting-edge of Indian missile and ship-building prowess. They reinforce the Indian Navy's contribution towards the Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India endeavours.

This achievement establishes the Indian Navy's ability to strike even deeper and influence land operations further away from sea, when and where required.

The P-282 needs to have a range of at least 1000 km.

Where is our response ...????

None required. While the Brahmos is a great missile against an adversary that does not has a sophisticated AD, against a foe like Pakistan the Brahmos will be intercepted and neutralized. Just look at the height it flies at, look at the smoke and the faster it travels the higher the IR signature that will light up Pakistan's radars as soon as it is launched.
