Indian Navy mulling N-Powered Aircraft Carrier

EMALS actually requires more power than a naval reactor can provide (during the duration of each launch) at the exact moment of its operation and ergo the EMALS requires a power storage system so as to provide the required kick...beat that.

The brits considered to re-design their QE2 carrier to CATOBAR design with EMALS too and that's a conventional powered carrier. Besides that being interesting in EMALS doesn't mean IN would get it anyway.

Come on Don't do that. It's going to delay everything... Build the conventional one and make the next one as Nuclear. Better start the design as soon as the IAC2 kicks off

Nobody is doing => building anything as of now, they only look at all options that are available, which includes design, propulsion, or aircrafts. So "consindering" a nuclear propulsion for the carrier is the right thing to do, if such an option exists, but if at all it should be build for performance advantages, not for pride reasons like many of us have in first place. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what propulsion the carrier has, as long as the air wing is not capable, since a nuclear propulsion in Viki or IAC 1 will not make N-LCA, Mig 29K, or Ka 31 any better!

lol nice to day dream isn't it boys.

Russia don't have nuclear aircraft carriers to hand it to you.

India will take over 100 years to construct an AC if it takes 30 years to make that outdated LCA.

Maybe , but I'm sure all people working on the AC have a penis 2 times bigger than an average Chinaman.

Indian carriers rarely leave port because they don't know how to operate it. Don't think for one second India is some kind of 'expert' in carrier operations because no one has even seen India do it under complicated conditions. You just have foreign carriers in your ports to boast, that's all you have.

India can never build a carrier using domestic components because it's beyond India's technology and knowledge grade. Not even the paint job is indian, it was done by Russia lol.

The Liaoning is better than every Indian carrier. At 65,000 tons, it's a beast!
India has been operating aircraft carriers even before your country got its first color TV. So don't talk about our experience in operating aircraft carriers. On the other hand , I doubt a Chinaman ever sat on as much as a destroyer or frigate before 1990 , let alone an aircraft carrier.

A nuclear-powered 65,000-tonner is a given.

I think the distant plan is to possess atleast 3 x 65,000-ton N-carriers.

I have info that IN wants some 18-20 GT-powered destroyers, all equipped
with AESA radars, BrahMos-1/2 & Barak-2 SAMs.

Frigates number is unclear but upto 20 stealth frigates is confirmed (7 x P-17A, 3 x
P-17 and 9 x Talwar). There could be more follow-on orders especially in light
of the growing carrier fleet.

Seems like you are playing Civilization V.

scratching our own d!cks, are we???atleast we buy those tech than steal.atleast we're not subject of Global IP theft..and P-15 waits because Barak-8 is running behind schedule.unlike China, whose weapons development is all behind shadowy dark screen,India gives updates.we don't make a SAM overnight, like China claim they do(Steal).

If India openly give updates, does India allow its friend Pakistan to independently confirm the updates? Otherwise, how would the world verify whether India is telling the truth or not.

You mean like a little LCA under developmn for over 30 years and the P-15 that's still not commissioned since being launched in 2006?

When these fantasy programs are commissioned into the Indian military, then we will take notice, until then, dream on :coffee:

P15 is waiting for the Israelis to install the anti air missile. That is why its not ready. If the Barak missiles are not installed, the ships will stay in the ports forever.

I believe, going for nuke reactor will be the best bet. Thats the future. After Vishal, next carrier will be a super carrier and that has to be n-powered. So having beforehand experience of running n carrier will be the best bet.
