Indian Muslim women can travel for Hajj without ‘mahram’: PM Modi

In fact 100 of women have already applied.

That's fine.. but it doesn't even make 0.001% of women who apply for hajj..

Also, you don't know which school of thought these women follow.. Most of the people in Kerala follow Saudis, but in Central and North India, they follow Deobandi/ Barelvi..

.
Not 100 but 1300 have applied and they are getting benefits of it as well.

"After PM Shri @narendramodi Ji‘s suggestion, I assure that those about 1300 women, who have applied to go for Haj without “Mehram” (male companion), will be exempted from the lottery system and allowed to proceed on Haj. #MannKiBaat"

Things are finally moving out of mullahs hands globally.

This is just a small step in a long journey .

.
Actually I didn't know about this..

But anyway, how will you force a Mahram to sign an affidavit?

To tell you the truth, there are different schools of thought... if one school of thought says that Hajj is not accepted without a Mahram, even women over 45 who follow that particular school of thought will not apply for Hajj (or very few will apply).
It is NOT the govt job to force regressive mullahs and the Marham to sign affidavit. Government can relax the rules and that it has done. Now muslim woman will get the signature

According to my understanding, the people of Kerala though many working in the Gulf, are afflicted by the South Asian disease called Tableeghi Jamaat which of course is Deobandi.

Schools/colleges and office spaces are places for recruitment into the Tableeghi fold.

Good job Modi. Women rule the world they don’t need male “guardians” (whatever that means) to accompany them.

But this is not what he said according to some Indian posters above...

Not true.. I have lived most of my life in Gulf..

Tableeghis (or any other groups) are not allowed to operate even in mosques..

And most of Keralites follow Wahabi school of thought.. which is prevalent in KSA.

Lol! Saudi? There are a few Salafi Madressas here and there in here. But that's less than 1%. Most of them follow Sunni Islam and are moderates, in our a way that'll make the Saudi's look confused, not going into detail anyway, although that may not involve praying to graves or some flying mullah stuff.

Speaking of Mahram, it's not the Indian government, but the Saudi made the rule that allows groups to travel without Mahram so, you got a problem with Shari'ah you know where to knock. But Individual governments can decide on the matter whether to send a group of women alone. What GOI did was to make the individual rule that allows women. This is it"Women over the age of forty-five (45) may travel without a mahram with an organized group. They must, however, submit a no-objection letter from her husband, son or brother authorizing her to travel for haj with the named group. This letter should be notarized."

Also, I've seen many of you lot claiming it's Haraam, well, then women should not travel alone to any place without a Mahram.
Not one ayat that details what should be performed during Hajj, mentions that women should perform Hajj with Mahram. Not that I'm aware of. I'm open to new information.

They can decide whatever they want.. A guardian is required in all cases (whether in the form of a group or a Mahram).. I initially thought that Modi is permitting all women..

If this is what Modi meant when he said he will allow women to go alone, then no problem..

I didn't say they don't exist, of course, they do. But in negligible numbers.

I have seen most of them praying like how Saudis do.. but thanks for the information..

What I have quoted is what GOI said. And that's what KSA said. So, I hope this clears em all. Only the ignorant bunch here thought every women can travel alone. Even if they wish or GOI allows, the Saudi's won't let them in. And their husband, Son, Father will not allow them.

No details are given how prayers should be offered exactly..
