Salman Rushdie has indeed talked against Islam, he used to work and make a living in Pakistan, his mother lived in Karachi her whole life and no one harmed her. Her son on the other hand has got nothing but nonsense to say against Pakistan, shows his mentality well.

Proof please? I wanna see when Salman Rushdie talked crap about Islam? Have you even read his novel? Don't judge people without knowing the truth. And yes he has lived in both India and Pakistan. So he definately the better person to judge than you or me. He said 'As soon as you cross the Pakistani border and go to Pakistan you feel the religious tension. You feel conjusted like you're not allowed to talk specially when grew up in India.' And btw I'm not making this up. I've got a source.

What kind of sick minded individual would believe such nonsense?

Just goes to show you what kind of pathetic environment you probably grew up in, bring sources for your pathetic allegations or apologize for making up such nonsense.

Who told you this anyway?

So are you telling me that you guys weren't told that India is equatorial country and ALL the Indians are dark? Or Pakistan existed for eternity or Pakistanis ruled over India for 1000 years? Where as the truth is that Mughal empire ruled India from 1526 to 1858. And neither in 1528 did tt cover whole India nor in 1858 due to rise of Sikh and Maratha Empires. And MUGHALS ruled over India not Pakistanis. Who just happened to be muslims and who always thought of themselves as Indians.

I mean I might have chose the wrong words to express it but it is true that you guys have been fed so much Anti-India propaganda. There are no two ways about it.

If anything, the prevalent mood was one of hostility and suspicion. It reminded me of a story the late Mani Dixit used to tell about his time in Pakistan, when he visited a Pakistani diplomat at his home. He was introduced to the couple’s young son as a visitor from India. The child said an obedient ‘hello’ and then started running around a startled Dixit shouting “Hindustani , Hindustani kut*a !” The embarrassed parents hurried him out of the room and apologised profusely to Dixit.

A friend’s aunt, who is married to a Pakistani, and often visits the country, had much the same experience. Sitting at the breakfast table one morning, she saw that her young nephew was playing with his toy airplanes. She walked across to join him, but stopped short when she heard him mutter, “Main India pe bomb maroonga...”

Indians' experience in Pakistan .

No we don't have any subject like Pakistan studies , neither are indo- pakistani wars a part of Indian curriculum.

LOL because one indian experienced that, that means all Pakistanis are like that? I mean in india no one is anti Pakistan and you NEVER see anti Pakistan propaganda aired :disagree:

From the looks of the some of the comments here, it seems like they teach kids in india: BS propaganda about Pakistan

Your link does not even work and goes to show you the prevalent mentality of how your so called writers might have twisted things to suit their liking.

I could reference countless links here which shows how well Indians have been treated in Pakistan to clear your misconceptions but your point of view will always remain fixated upon negativity.

I never studies Indo-Pakistani wars or any such nonsense either, where do you people get all this nonsense. Most of you sit on Pakistani websites spewing garbage on a daily basis whereas most of us do not even visit Indian counterparts let alone discuss anything about them.

Sick.

People also forget that Salman Rushdie was born in Bombay, & spent most of his time there.

Salman Rushide is an pathetic attention seeking loser. It's funny because his mom and sister live in Pakistan and I heard are quite nice people, don't know how that jerk is related to them

I like how you replied to his comments and not mine. Anyways I'm running late right now but do reply to mine if you have something to say I'll get back to you Mr. Moderator. :)

So Salman Rushdie's family moved to Pakistan before visiting it a number of times and they failed to see this so called religious tension during their trips here.

Very odd that he felt some sort of religious tension but he still decided to move to Pakistan with his family.

Rushdie: No. It's completely dreadful for me. That is the worst thing, finding it difficult to go to India is, of all the deprivations, the worst. Because, well, because I'm from there. My family is still there and my mother lives in Pakistan and I'm not allowed to go to Pakistan. I'm personally banned there.

That's the worst place for you to go, a Muslim country.

I will never go to Pakistan again, no question. But it's an indication of how trumped up this whole thing is. My mother has been living there throughout this time and there's been absolutely no trouble. You know, she hasn't had a rude phone call.

Why not? Because you believe that in the streets-

Because all of the people are not like that. She goes to the bazaar and people say, "How is your son? Isn't it dreadful what's happening?"

Oh? Now that's so interesting to hear.

But that's the reality.

The image you have of it is that she would be stoned in the streets.

I know. People say, "These crazy Muslims, we couldn't stop them, and they're bastards." One of the things that's not given a lot of attention is how much Muslim support for me there's been.

David Cronenberg Interviews Salman Rushdie

So there is enough religious tension that is mother felt safe in Karachi, got support from the local people and even Rushdie was supported by Muslims.

Truly religious tension is at peak here.

As for his alleged pov against Islam, he alludes to it in this very interview and how he become a 'Muslim' again to get away from the threat he was under.

So are you telling me that you guys weren't told that India is equatorial country and ALL the Indians are dark? Or Pakistan existed for eternity or Pakistanis ruled over India for 1000 years? How cunning and pathetic you are?

You made some nonsense story to malign Pakistan which is a product of your environment and now you are twisting things to some inane version of History.

You better apologize for making that nonsense up or I am getting rid of you.

Enough is enough.

So you made up nonsense and you could not back it up, now you decide to run away without answering it.

Well I was saving your infractions until you explained yourself and you said it yourself, "I might have chose the wrong words to express it but it is true".

Goodbye.

It was a blessing in disguise for Pakistan that most hindustani muslims stayed back in hindustan. They should stay there forever in their little slums in mumbai, who needs their love.

As if all Pakistanis are living in palaces, and no slums in ur country !!
Ya in Pakistan even OSAMA will live in palace , but not u!!
In our slums all people live (majority hindus) but we are indians first rather than our religions!!!!

1. In spite of trying her best to show herself to be "secular", Shabana Azmi has been under attack by Hindu extremists lately. She has been sobbing openly on TV protesting against these attacks. It is not impossible hubby Javed is trying to join in the defence of the wife expressing anti-Pak feeling which would be much appreciated by the Hindu zealots.

2. Pertinent here to point out that the top two Muslim actors of Mumbai are Air Khan and Shahrukh Khan. What do they have in common? Both have Hindu wives who openly practice that religion - something Islam does not permit. On the other hand Dilip Kumar and now artist M F Husain have been hounded by these people.

3. In short, it would appear, in India, to progress, a Muslim has to adopt Din-e- Ilahi.

.
There is also a very popular concept in Pakistan called "denia" or something. Apparently, it involves cutting India into several pieces......

The worst attacks againt Shaban were by the Muslim extremists who called her a tawaif. In an Islamic country she would be hounded out, in India she gets to be famous and become an MP.

The reasons for not getting the houses are different and you need to understand them better. It is mostly because many housing societies are owned by communitiers which don't want non vegetarians among themselves. Even Hindus have difficulty getting into them. The societies have the right of association and whom they allow in like anywhere else.

Even Hindus have difficulty buying houses in some Muslim areas.

The Khans decision to marry anyone is a personal choice. Hardly a need for a foreigner to butt their nose in.

Who is the "tyrant"?! Our elections are not presidential. And consensus from representatives of state is necessary for all actions.

Also, India has never been ruled by its army nor is it EVER going to be.
