I'm mighty suspicious of the cirumstances of the arrest. First Tunda & now Yaseen Bhatkal? On the Indo-Nepal border? Both of them based in Pakistan....I'm beginning to wonder whether the Pakistanis are pushing these chaps out. Maybe NS has a new policy....

Along with Yasin Bhatkal, another IM operative Asadullah Akhtar arrested

New Delhi: Besides terror mastermind Yasin Bhatkal, another key Indian Mujahideen operative close to him was arrested last night.

Asadullah Akhtar, who was a bomb planter in the terror outfit, was arrested moments after Bhatkal.

Asadullah, who belongs to Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, is also wanted in several terror cases and has a reward of 10 lakh on him. He is said to be known as 'Haddi' in the terror outfit.

His father Javed Akhtar is an orthopedic surgeon who once contested a Lok Sabha election. According to him, Asadullah had graduated with a pharmacy degree from Lucknow.

He is allegedly involved in blasts in Varanasi, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.

Born in Lucknow, Asadullah was allegedly tasked to recruit well-educated men for Indian Mujahideen.

I understand in the case of Bhatkal it is more straight forward - however that determination should not be up to me, hence we have not expanded this beyond Kashmiri separatists but the same logic applies.

Indian army has raped, killed people in the name of fake encounters for medals, its people have carried out Hinduism motivated bombings... Do we allow the same tag of "terrorist Indian army" for them?

New Delhi: Yasin Bhatkal, the chief of terror outfit Indian Mujahideen, was tracked for months before he was caught last night. After his arrest, he tried to get away by telling Indian officers he was not the man they wanted.

Sources told NDTV the Indian Mujahideen chief's movements were picked up by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) about a month ago in Nepal. He had been seen traveling in and out of Nepal for some time.

The Bihar police was roped in only last night as IB officers homed in on Bhatkal in a top secret operation.

On being caught in north Bihar near the border, the 30-year-old terror mastermind and quick escape artist first claimed he was an engineer working on a project in Nepal.

Then he insisted he was a yunani doctor - a doctor who specialises in Islamic traditional remedies - the same cover he had allegedly used while setting up a terror module in Dharbhanga in Bihar, said sources.

But sources said his pictures and other information on him were too specific for him to be anyone but the man behind terror strikes across the country and one of India's 12 most wanted.

After relentless questioning, he finally gave in and admitted he was Yasin Bhatkal.

I can't believe you just compared Indian Army to terrorist scum like Bhatkal. Indian Army is an organization, you can not tarnish an organization because of the crimes committed by few rotten eggs. And as far as rapes and fake encounter are concerned Pakistan Army has much worse record, so lets not even go there.

Its probably for the best that "the forum policy for libel" is limited to Kashmir related issues, and no name calling for uniformed soldiers be it from India, Pakistan or any XYZ country. Otherwise next thing you know Indians will start calling TTP as rebels, militants and Baloch separatists as freedom fighters and that won't go down too well with you guys.
