Indian Manned Space Program

.
I'm just being realistic. India has more than enough talent in India (in terms of scientists) and thus increasingly doesn't even need to go to the established space powers for specialist assistance.

The thing is Iran would benefit a lot more than India would from such collaborations, I am just being pragmatic here I honestly don't mean to offend. I have nothing against Iran or their scientists- they do impressive work with what they have but ISRO is an aspirational organisation and thus if it wants outside help (I'm not sure they need or desire it) they should be getting it from those who are ahead of them, not behind.

The one thing Iran could help ISRO with is boosting its feeble budget ($1 BN or so is not enough).
OK

I just want ISRO to do more business and we can also use it as a diplomatic tool.

Come on mate,USSR /Russia also helped us when we were literally toddlers in the field of space tech.Iran on the other hand is far more mature at this point. So i think for the sake of friendship we should start full scale co-operation with the Iranian Space agency as it'll be mutually beneficial for both of us.Remember one thing, there is no limit of learning and i am sure we can learn some valuable things from our Iranian counterparts and vice versa:-).

Business will come for sure- ISRO's high profile successes and impressive record will ensure this. But the best way to increase business is to develop ISRO's capabilities yet further and I don't think collaborating with Iran would work towards this objective.

India needs to focus on making our rocket fuel better. According to some Chiense posters, the weight of the rocket and the weight of the shuttle points to an area of inefficiency.

Mate, when the USSR helped ISRO/India- India was the toddler and the USSR was a global leader in this arena. Now if your objective is to boost Iran's space program then cooperation with ISRO will meet this objective. However, if the objective is to bring about tangible benefits to ISRO then working with Iran will add little to an organisation like ISRO.

Iran isn't the USSR/Russia, they are behind ISRO in almost every field (not intended to be hurtful just the reality).

Co-operation for the sake of co-operation won't get ISRO anywhere, one has to be selective with who you collaborate with. Right now ISRO is just fine on its own so why bring in a junior player?

. .
No offence to Iran but why? If you were proposing a collaboration with NASA or the Russians then fair enough but what really could Iran add to ISRO? ISRO is doing just fine on their own and I don't really see the need to go to others for help.

Again, no offence intended, just being realistic here.
collaboration =/= help .....

iran may not be able to "add" anything to your boosters , but we certainly can shorten and squeeze the time table .

i am curious to know what u think of iran ? a third-world dum dum nation with no regards to science ?

pal our astronauts will be in space just 5-10 years after yours take off ..... so yeah . we are just about half a decade behind u .

our best wishes to ISRO and indian nation .

Not at all, Iran is clearly a very capable nation in terms of scientific endeavour and I truly respect your embrace of science.

All I am saying is that ISRO is not NASA, they work off a measly budget and they really have no spare capacity for passengers. They need to (and are) devote 100% of their resources and energy on themselves. Speaking from a practical stand point it doesn't make sense to tie up with nations/agencies with less capability than your own, what would they add to ISRO? Not a huge amount to be perfectly honest.

I sincerely wish Iran and your scientists all the success in the world with your own projects, I'm sure you are a future power in this area!

No mate we Don't think Iran as a technologically backward country. On the contrary i will be extremely happy if our Space Agencies can collaborate in the near future.I have got great respect for the Iranian scientists and engineers who despite of all those bloody sanctions managed to make a heavy SLV which is an outstanding achievement as far as i am concerned and believe me most of the Indian members in this forum share my p.o.v. in this matter:cheers:.

Holy shit! Are these figures accurate dude? If it is, Im so f-king impressed by the specific and total impulse. Quick question why is there such a difference between the thrusts of both rockets?
