I am pretty sure he was never Hindu, so why would he "revert"? He followed no other belief before Islam.

Sir, ancient Aryan faiths are linked to bloodlines. You are born a Zoroastrian or a Hindu. Jew too come to think of it (as the first Semitic spinoff).

You cannot "become" one.

The faith is hardwired to its ancestral people.

The Persians and the Hindus (you guys) and the Semitic Jews.

It does not matter which of your ancestors converted (or how or why or when and how long ago).

You remain Hindus by blood.

And so by ghar waapsi can be allowed to revert back to your ancestral faith.

Your social structure and names and their linked castes anyways still remain the same. For all intents and purposes, your lifestyles are largely Hindu except which as directly linked to Islam in terms of prayers, rituals etc. And that is also how the rest of the Muslim world especially in the Middle East (especially the Iranians and the Saudi and their satellite states) see you. As Hindu converts.
