LAHORE: Indian national Kashmir Singh has been set free after 35 years from the Koth Lakhpat jail here on Monday after President Pervez Musharraf pardoned him.

Kashmir Singh seemed happy when he came out of Koth Lakhpat jail. He has embraced Islam and named Ibrahim during his long detention behind bars.

Kashmir Singh was garlanded when he emerged out of the jail with Caretaker Human Rights Minister Ansar Burney. He will stay in a five star hotel tonight and Ansar Burney will take Kashmir Singh to the Wagah border tomorrow.

Paramjit Kaur, wife of Kashmir Singh along with others family members will receive her husband whom he married at the age of 16 and who has been waiting for Kashmir Singh for the last 35 years. She said people told her that Kashmir was dead but she did not lose hope.

Yesterday he refused the claim that he has embraced Islam.

A very interesting thing that he told that he was a policeman in India and came illegally to Pakistan for Business

A very interesting excuse .:azn:

. . .
For a moment I thought Pakistan has handed over KASHMIR to India.

hahahaha that made me laugh.

It's good that he was released, though it's quite obvious he came to our country with malicious intentions and paid the price for it.

While I don't know if this was a simple case of someone straying across the border as a few days ago I read a smiliar report of some Borders Rangers of Pakistan making the same mistake and straying into India.

But to be forgotten for 35 years from a Human Rights view shows how chaotic Pakistan jails are. I am aware such horror stories also exist in Indian Jails to.

I don't know his full story, but dosen't he admit coming to Pakistan illegally? And he was sentenced to death, he is lucky to even be alive.

:) qudrati care to go and check the poor Pakistanis arrested in India on different false charges are langushing for many long years In Indian jails. even after completing the imprisonment awarded to them.

And when you know such stories exsit in Indian jails too than why to term Pakistanis jails chaotic only, as Indian jails are as much chaotic.

After Ansar Burney got Kashmir released now my faith has become more stronger that whatever happens in our lives is planned by the creater.
As who knew that Ansar Burney would be made caretaker Pakistani Minister.

Ansar Burney visited all the jails acorss Pakistan to help Indian citizen.

Bravo

Dear Jana,

Where have I said Indian Jails are better ? Infact they are as bad or probably worse.

I am only stressing on the fact to spend 35 years and be forgotten is not the most ideal prison conditions. If you wish to justify that your prisons are good then so be it and feel happy.

:) my dear i would not say that jails here are good. I had visited the Central Jail Peshawar twice to help women prisoners and i did not sleep for a week.
There were foreigner women arrested for carrying drugs and trust me they were crtitical of their governments and families for not doing anything for the.

As far forgetting someone for 35 years well dear i read today Kashmir Singh flayed the Indian government for getting him for long 35 years.

And one more thing dear both in Indian and Pakistani jails, they forget their own citizens for years so to expect that a person arrested on charges of spying would be given due attention wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll not likely

Don't worry about Jana.

She will rabbit an equation always.

I am not too sure if she is commenting on Pak jails!

Two wrongs don't make it a right! :cheesy:

Have you seen the videos of Pakistani prisoners released by India? Majority of them have become mentaly crazy thanks to inhuman treatment by Indian army. So conditions of prisons in Pak is way better then India can comeup.

So if Indians do something very badly should Pakistan be happy by doing the same less badly.

Why not compare your prisons to say UK ?

Why ACCEPT A bad practice just because your neighbours are equally bad.
