Indian General says China's $46 Billion Investment in Pakistan ominous for India

. .
There're concerns i think its time Pakistan and India sign a no war and no use of land agaist each other pact.

.
I fail to see how this investment of 46 Billion USD affects INDIA ?

Most of this investment will go in to build Rail and Road Infrastructure for the " Economic Corridor " and a smaller portion will go towards construction of energy Projects.

Why should India feel threatened by these Projects that aim to bolster the Economy of Pakistan.

I am sorry to use such language, but kiya 'ch****a' admi hai yeh, so in order to counter his proclaimed Pak-China nexus against India, he wants India to Arm Vietnam, Phillippines, Indonesia and South Korea..........wait.....if that wasn't WTF enough....he wants to Arm 'SOUTH KOREA'

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA:rofl:

I am sure he has never visited South Korea.......they can arm India if they want and not break a sweat.....not to mention Modi Ji begging for JVs with Korean firms.

Who made this joker a Maj Gen in the Indian Army........what a bunch of buffoons.

Exactly, can't imagine if that kind of non-sense comes from a senior officer retired or not, the level of ignorance could be worrisome in rest of the ranks.

Back to the topic, South Korea (and Japan) would be important investor across the whole SA region. Relatively speaking, China would primarily focus on ally Pakistan, then partnering states Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and some re-investments back to india in order to to balance the international accounts.

Infrastructure is the platform on which economic activities carry out, therefore the better it is the more vibrant activities could there be. Infrastructure, economy, national strength and defense capabilities are all inter-related.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What he sees is a projection of his sub-conciousness of general indian hostility towards Pakistan.

Economic boost will also boost the defense budget

Hey give the indians a break I mean they want to arm so many countries and become a competitor to China in A to Z.

The Countries he wants to be armed know where they stand. They will stand closer with China it is in their own good no matter how big or little the squabbles with China. The Dragon a has woken General and it breathes Fire

The Chinese govt clearly does not shares your view Sino-Indian partnership is a very dynamic one & with time Ties & investments will only increase & the 22 billion is a good amount since the total investment made by Chinese companies till now is less than 1 billion in fact its so low that Indian companies have invested more in China than Chinese companies in India, also keep in mind that all these Years Security establishment in India had the final say on Chinese investments now there are clear guidelines on what you investment will be allowed & what will not be allowed.Your govt is smarter than you it knows Infra in India will be build doesn't matter if Japanese are gonna do it or the Koreans so why not be part of the Indian growth story rather staying confined to Small markets like PK & BD(in comparison to India).
Also I had a little query about this corridor, how much of your total investments are in manufacturing sector of PK

Now you start trolling ha? Instead of trolling back I might as well state some realities for you.

Both governments can be diplomatic, and even pragmatic in solving tactical problems like trying to balance ever-widening trade surplus/deficit by reinvestment (e.g. this $22B is a diplomatic gesture between the governments), however that does not change the fundamental relationship between the two countries, i.e. between people of two countries. I am sure you know what it is like.

From China's general POV, India is not an attractive economic partner. China not just do business within South Asia, from a global perspective India is way smaller than any of other regions (ASEAN, Australasia, MENA, CEE, ECO, Latin America, Africa, developed countries in EU, East Asia, North America) in overall GDP size, per capita income level. Over 2/3 of the world have China as top trading partner, Sino-India bilateral trade is insignificant. Lack of infrastructure, low base of industrialization, these further limit opportunities for supply chain integration. Looking at import, India doesn't have China's top urgent needs i.e. energy, commodities (e.g. Australia, Brazil are top suppliers of iron ore). Last but not least, the fundamental relationship as mentioned above dictates that no major investment of strategic importance (e.g. critical infrastructures, fixed assets) would happen. The investment should be limited to short-term hi-liquidity tools e.g. loans, export credits.

Don't worry, from India's general POV, China is also the least attractive economic partner, probably the most hated one. So other than diplomatic gesture in peace time, why engage each other? Hence people from both countries should, and would, minimize economic interaction as much as possible. Within South Asia, we love to work with Pakistani friends (and BD, SL), make money and have fun while doing so. Japanese, Korean, Americans or whoever come to invest in you is your business. Let's walk separate ways.

Allow me to explain things in a more simple manner
1st China is a very practical country & it will make money where it can be made & India has a lot of opportunity & potential for Chinese Infra & Capital goods industries
2nd unless you are a 9 year old,you would know that in international relations there are no permant friends or enemies just interests & it is in your govt 's interests to sustain the massive capacities that you have built
3rd check your stats mate India is the 3rd largest economy in Asia & and 2nd largest in BRICS & the only major world economy who is gonna sustain high rates of growth
4th according to your logic China should not be investing or try to invest in areas like Power,Road,Rail & other important areas of national importance but the opposite is happening you are investing in all these areas, hell China is helping us build our 1st dedicated rail university.
& the last para does not even makes sense, what you mean by walk separate paths Business does not works that way.

You dont!! Then you have not understood the strategy to India in the last decade to cripple Pakistan economically and isolate it. To some extent it has succeeded. The reason being we have sold out leadership who cant speak for the country and look for their own interests.

If India's effort to brand us sponsor of terrorists had succeded, there would not have been such a big investment. This is what worries India. That its plan to isolate Pakistan did not fully succeed, hence this investment.
