NEW DELHI:Independent lawmaker from India-held Kashmir, Engineer Rashid, who was attacked by a colleague on October 8, had ink thrown on him by a mob in New Delhi on Monday.

Rashid was attacked when he was on a visit to Delhi Press Club.

Earlier this month, lawmakers from India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked Rashid in Jammu and Kashmir' legislative assembly over eating beef.

Television footage showed several BJP legislators pushing and shoving Abdul Rashid in the Jammu and Kashmir state assembly for holding what they called a “provocative beef party”.

The recent ink attack comes eight days after 10 to 15 Shiv Sena activists had attacked in a similar fashion Sudheendra Kulkarni, organiser of former Pakistani foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri's book launch, hours before the event
