Vedanta appoints David Reed as CEO of global semiconductor business

Vedanta and Taiwan's Foxconn will invest $19.5 billion to set up semiconductor and display production plants in Gujarat.

In September 2022, Vedanta signed an MoU with Gujarat government to set up India's first semiconductor fab unit, a display fab unit, and a semiconductor assembling and testing unit in the state.

Vedanta and Taiwan's Foxconn will invest $19.5 billion to set up semiconductor and display production plants in Gujarat.

The investment of ₹1.54 lakh crore, which Gujarat said was the largest ever by any group in an Indian state. The companies had also said that the Vedanta-Foxconn joint venture project will create over 100,000 jobs in Gujarat.

About litte more than 10 years ago - like 2010ish. China's GDP was like 3-3.5 times that of India, so even that comparison wasn't exactly right, but at least there was hope of catching up in the next decade, now difference is like 6 times. Now as if that wasn't enough, to add salt to wounds Lungis were nowhere in the picture 10 years ago, the very suggestion of India being compared to Lungis back then would have led to ridicule, scorn and jokes and now its a reality, like living in a nightmare.

But its ok, at least mother cow is doing well . india should export cow dungs and gau MUtra to catch up with Lungis.

I personally don't care if India ever surpasses China nor do i believe its possible but even a below average govt should have been able to deliver a per capita income at least twice that of Lungis, but when fake degree feku is ruling shit happens.
