The overall passenger vehicle industry in India (passenger cars, utility vehicles and vans), anyways with at least 5 new players in Pakistan in automobiles, the sales is expected to reach 0.5 million in 4 years. India has many times more manufacturers and assemblers.

The future of Pakistan auto sector seems highly promising. The economy is destined to grow due to CPEC investments and improving security situation. Demand for all types of vehicles should increase significantly. For passenger cars, we can expect the annual demand to touch 500,000 units; for motorcycles: 4 million units, for heavy vehicles: 20,000 units and for tractors: 100,000 units.

I'm not downplaying the industry in your country.

I was just giving the comparisons.

With the improving economic status of the country, the vehicle industry grows accordingly.

India is in the path of Rapid development, and to be fair you need at least a grand industry like TATA, with footprint in different sectors. Like software tech, heavy industries, steel etc....

Many hotels includes in the list from Dwarka, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida, greater Noida and far off places. Also a few so called 5 star with A$ 95 per night price tag, which cannot be a 5 star hotel at this rate.

So including many smaller cities in Delhi and calling it one city Delhi NCR and branding it one city doesn't do the trick here. This is not one city but many smaller satellite cities included here.

Not far off places, they are within the NCR region.. sub-urban do you understand, what it means?..

.
I think India beats you there too. Remittance from NRIs to India is $70 billion, the highest in the world, while Pakistan's is $10 billion.
No sunshine you don't.

Pakistan - $20 billion [compensate by population times 6.5] $130 billion
India - $65 billion

Since India has population at least 6.5 times greater if you factor that in Pakistan gets $130 billion compared $65 billion. Please don't ignore that India has far, far more people so the remittances are spread out thin in vast population pool of over one billion plus. We also know significant chunk of the remittances [more so then India] come in through illegal channels.

The effect of this migrant poulations is immense on the donor regions. For comparison see how Indian Punjab and Keral are doing very well in India because both states have a long history of huge migrant populations abroad. The money sent back by Sikh Punjabi or Keralites feeds the local economy. More houses built, more cars bought, more clothinhg bought. The money resonates into the local economy with one migrant probably impscting ten others in the donor region. Please read literature on how high migrant regions go through economic boom.

Then compare high migrant regions in Indian like Sikh Punjab or Kerala to say Odisha etc. The poorest regions in India will have the least migrants abroad. I run into Sikh Punjabi , Gujrati Indian on every street corner but have never met a Odishan or Indian Bihari.

Pakistan has big industrial conglomerates like Habibs(HOM, banking much more), Adamjees, Dawoods(into automobiles and diff. sectors, banking). Shirazis(Indus motors), Tabanis, Lakhanis, Manshas(Banking, hotel, textile), Dhedi's and many more...they have started the industrialization in the 60's in Pakistan, into Banking, trading, manufacturing and much more.

Yes we have Cowasjees also in Shipping and Avaris in hotel industry they are Parsis just like TATA. Yes TATA is much bigger because India is 6.5 times bigger in population.

Yes, I was wrong. However, I don't think this is something I would take it proudly. I take this a failure of the state to create jobs. I never liked the fact that India topped the remittance figures. Hope India goes down in remittance in future.

Delhi will have the fastest growth of any city in Asia, with the economy to be almost 50 percent larger in 2021 than it was at the end of last year.

Indian cities are set to expand the most across the region, with growth speeding up from the past 5 years, according to a new study from Oxford Economics, which ranked Asia's 30 largest cities. With financial and business services projected to be the fastest growing sector in India, Delhi’s dominance in this industry will lead to higher growth and higher incomes.

“Limits on foreign ownership of Indian companies are gradually being reduced or eliminated,” wrote Mark Britton, lead economist on the report. “In the short term this is conducive to strong growth in Delhi’s professional services sector, as overseas investors seek advice on possible deals, while long term it should mean steady income streams for such businesses.”

Consumer companies such as Japan’s Muji are also betting on that change. Parent company Ryohin Keikaku Co. sees India becoming its second largest international market, after China. And Amazon.com Inc.’s Indian unit is seeking approval to invest in a food supply chain and take advantage of government moves to ease rules on foreign retailers.

China's expansion will slow, although the largest five cities will still be recording growth rates of 6 percent or more. There will be a slight slowdown across the region amid moderating import demand from China, with growth expected to average 4.2 percent per year over the five years to 2021, down from 4.5 percent in 2012-2016.

Even so, that’s still much faster than the developed economies and cities in the region – and that’s a big opportunity for companies. Starbucks Corp. plans to almost double the number of stores it has in mainland China by 2021, and McDonald’s Corp. plans to add 2,000 new restaurants over the same period. Both companies recently announced they were buying out their partners in Mainland China and taking control of operations.

However, there are significant differences across the region.

Oxford Economics
Japanese cities are likely to remain at the bottom amid a challenging demographic outlook, with Osaka last in the rankings as its working-age population falls by approximately 1 percent per year, the report said.

Tianjin is forecast to clock the fastest growth in China, given that it has a large manufacturing base and one of the nation's busiest ports. However, as the services sector expands, the manufacturing and shipping industries may prove to be less supportive in future.

Ho Chi Minh was the only non-Indian city in the top five, reflecting the city’s success in establishing itself as a manufacturing center, as well as its strong services sector.

I agree. I take no particular pleasure in this. I would much have preferred that the money was earned through intrinsic productive capacity within Pakistan. We in effect leech off other economies. That in fact is part of our problem. The reason you see so much religious hocus pocus is rooted in this migrant economy. What happens is Mohammed moves to UK or whatever [GCC etc] and does not have to change his mindset.

I will give you example by applying this in Indian context. Dalit A who makes living by pulling rickshaws moves from his slum in Mumbai and moves to UK. In UK he becomes a taxi driver. All of sudden without making any changes in his social outlook or gaining any education he begins to earn ten times more money. He then starts sending it to his family who now start living a comfortable life. They walk around with swagger holding mobile phones and nice clothes. The family retains same backward social values and there is no economic compulsion to change. Full stomach, clothese have locked their minds in backwardness.

Dalit B works hard pulling rickshaws. He pushes his daughter and boy to get educated. They both get educated and find job in some IT company. To work in a multi-national they have to change attitudes, outlook to fit into the modern economy.

This has happened to large extent across Pakistan and is one of this reasons for our social conservatism amd radical politics. On the positive side I guess we have less poverty.

.
Not enough cities. We need a lot of cities to accomodate burging urban population. In India most of the migration happen to only 6-7 cities and they are already choked beyond measure.

. .
Indians should stop d!ck measuring contest with Pakistanis. Really sick. "Being Developed" more than Pakistan is no achievement. Our yardstick is China who have reached great heights from being the same with India 3 decades back. Comparing ourselves with Pakistan is self defeating.

We still have a lots of way to go. We have got no rights of boasting now. Lets work hard for next 2 more decades. Indians shouldnt become next Chinese in bragging and insulting other nationality.

.
Indians should stop d!ck measuring contest with Pakistanis.
Agreed.

bum measuring
Agreed. Instead of d!ck measuring they should go into mesasuring open defecation in their cities.

really sick
So will you after you read Indian open defecation stats. Nobody can beat India there. India has gone a long, long way ahead on bum index. Even the Banglas are jealous of your cities.

No rapid transit, no large airport...
It has and is being built/extended. Lahore is far more agreeable city then Delhi. Cleaner etc
