IMO there really won't be a big difference socially with the influx of Indian movies. From what I understand Bollywood movies and Indian soaps are extremely popular already... now people will just be able to indulge in them openly.

The economic impact on the other hand will be the more interesting one. The Indian film industry with legitimate distribution will certainly be able to increase its revenue and possibly further expand the consumer base. The local film industry may be at risk since they cannot compete; but who knows, it may either provide them with a push to reinvigorate themselves or perhaps find a niche market making films with high Islamic undercurrents which fall outside Bollywood's expertise.

The Indian Movies showing in Pakistani cinemas will bring the cinemas back from bankruptcy and government of Pakistan will collect entertainment And other taxes plus thousands of jobs will be created
As far as Pakistan film industry is concerned this is a best thing that could happened to them you c there is a disease in Pakistan ''UNEDUCATED idiots''Not only they cant produce any thing worth watching but they also make sure talented and educated people don't come up against them.this will for sure put them out of film industry and That will rejuvenate the industry as talented and educated people will come in to fill the void And that will create a healthy competitive industry.

Going by the recent devlopment where A Parliamentary Committee on Culture in Pakistan is seriously considering lifting the ban on Bollywood movies, provided that the Pakistan Gov. clears the proposal will mean that about 12 Indian movies can be screened in Pakistan and equal number of Pakistani Movies in India.

In that scenario, Could the Pakistani members here share/recommend their own list of 12 movies that should be showcased in India, based on the creativity, social message, Culture and inspirational etc ??

I personally believe that both industries can benefit a lot if movies are made as Joint Production. That might help Lollywood since they can use the technology , lack of which has limited them till now. Call it offsets clause if you may
