guesstimates is all we have and that's why each side keeps on pointing fingers at other...the point is there are always some unfinished business and soldiers from both sides waits to even out things at the time of their convenience..couple that with terrorist infiltration for which our beloved neighbors are duty bound to give cover fire it becomes impossible to pin point who started and who finished!

a) It is BSF and Rangers and not army who is involved
b) Unlike civilians they are in their hardened bunkers

Honestly, when incidents like this happen, we all should step back and realize that there is an information breakdown somewhere. We are told that it's Pakistan instigating the cross-border firing and you are led to believe that the opposite is happening. This is the time when a forum like PDF can be used by most as another channel to vent-out and by some others to find out exactly what started what. You all should relax a bit...nobody on the forum wants to kill anybody.

Can OP pls post the evidence for his premise that BSF stopped firing first, please? I mean he should have some solid evidence to claim like that and open a thread. If he can somehow provide evidence of that, he should also have some evidence of who started ceasefire violations first, as well!!!

Tbh, I am not even sure if his "giving credit" to BSF was in fact genuine!!!

Is it because he thought it sounds cool and heroic to say that India stopped first and hence blinked first?

It does fit a very popular Pakistani narrative where they claim "Jung wo shuru karenge par hum khatam karenge"!!!

Hey, Modi and his ministers were exposed as a bunch or immature, ranting and raving hate-mongers during this conflict, while the Pakistani government acted maturely, issued mature statements in support of peace and maintaining the ceasefire, involved the UN and invited independent observers to observe the situation and validate the Pakistani version of events.

Given all of the above, I am pretty satisfied with how Pakistan handled the situation, and kudos to Nawaz Sharif (of whom I am not a big fan) for how he handled it.

How on earth an army can get $hit kicked out with mere mortars?

Perhaps there is no limit to Modi-fied delusions.

I trust Indian forces statements, they may not be 100% accurate but they do have truth.

This is not the first time violations have taken place, we have not seen Pakistan running to UN this frequently and then there are reports that Media is barred from forward areas.
