Terming it as a “profound level of incompetence”, it called upon New Delhi to explain “if the missile was indeed handled by its armed forces or some rogue elements.”

People work around what Pakistani security sources say is the remains of a missile fired into Pakistan from India, near Mian Channu, Pakistan.

A day after India acknowledged that a “technical malfunction led to the accidental firing of a missile” which landed in Pakistan, Islamabad on Saturday demanded a joint probe to accurately establish the facts surrounding the incident.

The Ministry of Defence had also expressed “relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident” and said a Court of Inquiry had been ordered.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a press release, said: “We have taken note of the Press Statement by the Indian Press Information Bureau’s Defence Wing regretting the ‘accidental firing’ of the Indian origin missile into Pakistani territory on 9 March 2022 due to “technical malfunction” and decision to hold an internal Court of Inquiry.”

Stating that the “grave nature of the incident raises several fundamental questions regarding security protocols and technical safeguards against accidental or unauthorized launch of missiles in a nuclearized environment,” Pakistan asserted that “such a serious matter cannot be addressed with the simplistic explanation proffered by the Indian authorities.”

Raising a series of questions, it called upon the Indian government to explain the measures and procedures in place to prevent accidental missile launches and the particular circumstances of this incident.

Pakistan foreign ministry has sought a clear explanation on the type and specifications of the missile that fell in its territory, as well as the flight path/trajectory of the missile.

“Was the missile equipped with self-destruct mechanism?
Why did it fail to actualize? Are Indian missiles kept primed for launch even under routine maintenance? it asked.

It further questioned why India “failed to immediately inform Pakistan about accidental launch of the missile and waited to acknowledge till after Pakistan announced the incident and sought clarification.”

Terming it as a “profound level of incompetence”, it called upon New Delhi to explain “if the missile was indeed handled by its armed forces or some rogue elements.”

“The whole incident indicates many loopholes and technical lapses of serious nature in Indian handling of strategic weapons,” it noted, adding that, “Indian decision to hold an internal court of inquiry is not sufficient since the missile ended up in Pakistani territory,” as it demanded a joint probe to establish the facts.

“Given the short distances and response times, any misinterpretation by the other side could lead to counter measures in self-defence with grave consequences. Pakistan, therefore, calls upon the international community to take serious notice of this incident of grave nature in a nuclearised environment and play its due role in promoting strategic stability in the region,” the press release stated.

Based on some conversations this is how things might …. And I say might have played out …..

6 ish Pm a missile launch from India is detected.

1) Since no NOTAM was issued basic defensive measure would have been alerted and the air chief would have been informed

2) when the missile turns towards Pakistan CAP must have been alerted and secondary CAP ordered to scrambe

3) the missile crosses Pakistans border …..

Army chief and the PM would be informed…

4) after the missiles crashes an army team and airforce team are dispatched

5) Chinese high command is informed and they move Their satellites to confirm if further missiles are being prepared

6) US centcom would be informed at the same time - since Pakistan is a major non-NATO ally they To find out from the Indians what was going on…. We’re Indian strike formations or quick response division on alert or moving.

7) the Americans would have confirmed their position on the assault in a couple of hours

8) by now strategic weapons would Have been moved near the launch systems ready for pairing

9) additional defensive assets would have been put on alert and AWACS platforms would be in the air continuing surveillance,

10) army strike and defensive formations would be put on alert but would not move as to warrant a response

11) intense air activity would happen

12) sometime at night a high level meeting would have happened to Decide a response .

13 ) my afternoon a lot more detail would have come including from ISI ground agents verifying Indian military positions and movement

14)!tons of discussion would have happened

15) the exact verbiage of the response would have been prepared

16) friendly countries like turkey and Saudi would be informed

17) the Indians accept their mistake

I believe the Indians are checking our response because they have conducted submarine incursions and missile tests near our border. Something is up,

The Indians will lose all major supply of thier spare parts for 70% of thier forces for 2 years atleast as Russia will prioritize its own forces for this time. They have spares for about 6 months so the best time to attack is now!

if I were a betting man the best date 14 March to 15 April

May and June are not recommended as the monsoon will make it impossible for armored maneuvers

By September Indian military supplies will begin to dwindle and an attack Would be hard.

moving towards peace and investing in practical education would help.
Not when you have genocidal maniacal Nazis next door.

Please don't talk like a kid please ,please ask any sane pakistani expert ,they will tell you that Pakistan can match or some time out match India when the conflict is restricted to a small area, but once conflict spreads pakistans problems will getting bigger and bigger.

What do you mean by can India escalate ,of course we do. Otherwise ,india would not have said they conducted surgical strikes or bomber the pakistani side by crossing over the loc.
Just stick to reading the Winnie the Pooh books and stay in your fantasy world.

Now the real story has come out

It was a Bong Commanding officer ......
After a long day at work, inspecting missiles and launchers, he said:
"Oodi Baba...Eetna der ho giya!!! Cholo, obhi launch korta hai!!"
......and someone pressed the "Launch" botton!!!!
Please note;

You অবাঙালী are NOT permitted to joke about us.

India is treating their muslim population much worse.
Curiousity drew me out - much worse than what? or whom?

sir your estimate about logistics and spares is 3 months more..there Armada will not be able to field 50% after 3 months

i think also that your best bet is correct.

While we treated Bengalis like Indians treated sikhs or any other identity based insurgency in NE India.
There was never any organised mass killing of identified men of letters, ever, either in the case of the Sikhs, or in any other case. You have members of this forum whose close relatives were killed in those executions. There was never anything comparable in India.

IoK is disputed and will remain so but we cannot go to war over it.
That would be a very unwise decision, not because of the Indian armed forces being stronger, but because of what one of your analysts has stated correctly,

Forgot about Kashmir, you have to deal with balochi, pashtun and sindhi terrorists to maintain integrity of Pakistan. Kashmiris were never with you, they wanted independent country anyway.

You have taken advantage of huge power difference vs Pakistan but China will teach you a lesson soon enough when they come to reclaim their lands.
We are patient people.

give me a break with your false equivalency, revoking article 370 was the best thing to happen to Kashmir, It opened the floodgates for investment. Hell, I'm even looking into investing.
Ask a Kashmiri about it how they feel and how they are living. Do not try to press your personal opinions. I am a Kashmiri, born here and have roots here since dawn of humanity. I we see is India is a land grabber, looter of our natural resources, rape master, youth abductor, killer of many many thousands of Kashmiri people... Infact a genocide (just to imagine that more than one hundred thousand Kashmiri people were massacred by Indian forces since 1989 alone). And now when RSS regime have fully took control of India we Kashmiris fear more of worst times ahead as Muslims and other minorities are not safe in mainland India also. 9 lac Indian army is still present inside Kashmir Valley and on LOC suppressing Kashmiris and violating human rights at their worst.

How long might this have taken?

when the missile turns towards Pakistan CAP must have been alerted and secondary CAP ordered to scrambe
This happened less than three minutes from launch time.

You are saying that the Air Chief was alerted, and CAP was alerted also, within this time.

the missile crosses Pakistans border …..
At 18:46, from take-off at 18:43.

When the missile launched without NOTAM the CAP in the air is alerted when the missile turns towards Pakistan I assume a secondary CAP imust have been initiated as there could be a second strike in the wings and we would need aircraft in the air incase airfields are hit.
air headquarter is informed , I am assuming it is automated. I am assuming The telex forces the air chief to be informed.

Pakistani forces use a defcom like mechanism to communicate so different levels bring up different aspects of forces

usual Bhaktoras spouting their “India is infallible and Pakistan can’t do anything ” while Pakistani fanboys at their wild theories :pop:
It's all within the scope of appropriate laws.:cool::cool:

Height of overreaction in this thread on a missile which launched accidentally did not damage much.

Over simplification and misjudging are like two prominent American traits these days. Obviously there's a reason why you think like that.

But for your education, Pakistan and India are daggers drawn from the last several years. 2019 air skirmish, annexation of Pakistani territory by India and sending submarines to our territorial waters frequently are examples of ongoing offences from the Indian side, and then pushing and pulling on diplomatic fronts is on top of that. If this incident was indeed a mistake, India has tried its best not to make it look like one. Their failure to inform Pakistan in time, unwillingness to engage Pakistan soon after it happened and then providing absurd explanations almost confirm that it was as deliberate as we know.
