I'm not a crash investigator but the crater and the generally intact nature of the rear suggests otherwise. Furthermore the missile was probably pretty low in its terminal phase and not at 40k. I think the entire missile hit where it hit.

We already had the schematics, now we have a wreckage too, and since the missile is Indian, the wreckage is as good as a brand new missile cuz they are all useless.

Brother, deterrance means preventing enemy to go bonkers. It doesn't mean you have to use it. If somebody swear you can swaer back, but don't have to use gun.

Similarly, if somebody has scratched your car, you cannot in return smashed the other person and burn his home. At most you can break his car screen etc. The response should be propotionate.

Summarize:

1. Pakistan’s AD didn’t engage the target. We were observing, evaluating, and monitoring the projectile on its entire flight path that's all.
2. India fired this without NOTAM. So, International aviation and Pakistan weren’t aware of this however, Pakistan AD successfully tracked from the beginning even when it was in Indian airspace.
3. There were two-three civilian aircraft in the same corridor at that time what if we could've been mistakenly shot down GCC civilian aircraft instead of successfully neutralizing the Indian SSM? In 2019, India intentionally assigned mil signature (call sign) to one of its civilian aircraft. Indian airline was successfully intercepted by Pakistan’s F16. That was a deliberate attempt to trap Pakistan.
4. The intent was pretty much clear that they were testing Pakistan’s AD capabilities and deterrence against the SSM.
5. The projectile stayed in the air for about 4-5 mins, traveling a distance of 200+ kms at the speed of Mach 3. So there were much higher chances that we could have been shooting down a civilian aircraft.
6. This is the only and last missile in the entire Indian arsenal that lies under the category of “First strike capability”. Now in exchange for nothing except some rubble, we have access to their top SSM (remember Americans tomahawk > Babur cruise missile)?
7. The Indian missile veered off and interestingly disarmed. That's my opinion -- there must be the involvement of a “third country” who actually changed its course and disarmed it. Perhaps sending a message to the Indians that we have the capability to do anything with your defense -- “Americans or Chinese”.
There is serious confrontation going on btw Indian and Americans from the past few months on S-400. (Hint)
And the most important, a few days ago Khan stated somewhere “agar koi drone ya kuch aya kise b taraf se tu may airforce se kahonga isko gira dain”. He was aware of something that the general public of both sides doesn't know.

So military should also feel the heat of political destabilization. At least DG ISPR could have said that as per our constitutional duties we are integral part of the state and would be with whatever the shape and form of the elected Govt may be, we would be with them within legal and constitutional bounds. Instead, upon asking the DG ISPR straightforward declined to honor the seat of the PM.

Don't bring superpowers in it. Even a sloppy Arab military of KSA has been really successful in intercepting hundreds of missile attacks from Yemen. Just a few of them succeeded in slipping through the air defense. Drone strike is entirely another matter.

It is those few which get through that matter and which make the successful interceptions redundant and useless.

I am very sure that the injun cruj mijjile was headed to Rafique Air Base but got intercepted. ISPR is being mum about their abilities to intercept super sonic cruise missiles.

How about it was intercepted and then hacked to change its trajectory and make it fall on a place where you won't be having any casualty ? It seems more plausible that ISPR was not only monitoring it but hacked also.
