Which type of Sub commander want to destroy it's Millions of dollars sub and Kill his own crew members to just shoot Helos ??

why you think that Sub will fire it's Missile at anti sub helos first?
there are more chances to being detect first and get destroy.

Sub's main weapons is not any missile or torpedo but Stealth and by firing Fiber optic missile at vary less valuable helo it loosing it's main weapon

Well if after hitting the ship with a torpedo the subs gets no response from the helis on deck or in the air ,then it's fine.No need to engage the surveillance asset.
But if there is chance of detection.
What's the purpose of keeping the 4 to 8 IDAS on board.It's simple.
It's not there for picnic.

Wooow what a lucky Sub......

First it detects war ship and Anti sub helo before it is being detected.

Secondly Anti sub helos are not in the sky and if they are in the sky then even they are not able to detect sub.

Third there are no P8 I or Tovpul like anti sub Planes are not in the sky, and even if they are then even they are not able to detect sub.

Forth SOME HOW sub know the Pin point location of the Anti sub Helo. and Fire the LIMITED RANGE WIRE GUIDED MISSILE and DESTROY the HELO

Fifth, Then also other War ships and Anti Sub helos & plane not able to detect Sub (OR i should say LUCKY SUB)

Sixth, then sub (Oh sorry LUCKY SUB) fire it's remaining missiles and torpedoes to other war ships and sunk them.......

Seventh Then also other remaining War ships and anti sub helos and planes dont detect the sub and after all this sub go to it's base unharmed

If Any one know how to Manufacture this kind of LUCKY sub then please let us know we will Implement this kind of Technology in other weapons so Our Each and Every Soldier can Became RAMBO and Destroy our enemy's base with one Knife( LUCKY KNIFE)......

Man it's u214 not nuclear sub that makes more noice..plus it needs to be more close to the surface and is bulky as well.

Pls don't oversimplify. War is complex interplay of events and technology. The IDAS has a limited purpose but now a sub has that ability to fire back, so if a helo is on its tail, the helo also knows the sub can bite back, how it will play out won't be as simple as you are making out to be. pls don't mind.

Isn't IDAS for u-212? Also, I was under the impression that U-214 was no longer under consideration for the PN thanks to the change of plans to marlin ssk's?

IMO, with IN poised to go for additional foreign subs and the way Germans have been pushing for some time, U-214/(21X?) could very well end up with IN with VLS brahmos and IDAS! That would be a sight ....

All german boats will be carrying IDAS round 2014.

If India Choose Typhoon then it's definitely coming(Just Wild guess....)
and that also means Pakistan Navy don't get German subs and it's missile

Is there Any new subs in Pakistan's arsenal in near future? Just to discuss Indian anti sub warfare capabilities..

There was news also that export varient of U-212 will not have the capbility of firing the missiles from sub. Not sure someone has checked that??
Secondly U-214 is export varient of U-212 but its not as leathal as U-212.
I think Germans has holded the deal as India is also consideringt U-214 for its next line of submarines. Unless India choose Russians Amur/1650 class they will not finalise the deal with PN, simply because of bigger IN order.

we should go for U-214 ,atleast 8 and if possible go for 12 and put some more money into the mouth of german , so that thay cann't say no to put IDAS in u-214 and make it as lethal as 212.
