Operation Gagan Shakti made Indian Generals come up with a theory of two Front war, taking down PAF in 2 days and than taking on PLAAF.

However after 27th Feb 2019, Bharati Generals saw how they shot down their own mi17 killing 6 IAF personnel. They knew 2 front war for Indians is just a joke. They dont talk about it anymore.

Do you understand that a 1.5 to 1 means each IAF pilot needs to be active 18 hours a day?

You can't fix that by doing a planned exercise, when things come to shove, things will be in disarray.

I don't even get why this thread is being discussed so much, it's what it is, and they need to fix the ratio. A minimum ratio of 2 is needed and 2.5 is ideal.

do you understand that ratio means nothing......why

because
you assume 100% serviceability of fleet it could be lower which increases 1.5 ratio to 1.6 or 1.7
second there is guarantee that all.550.or 600 planes,are flying daily ie the jaguar may only fly specialist strike mission 3 times in 10.days
finally planes will.get lost or stop.flying quickly in war .

so it's not 1.5 hours or 18 hours
more likely reality 2 pilots per available sortie.

by The way India has 3855 pilots in air Force with 2000 planes,.of which only 700 are combat planes including navy and combat trainers,

Totally agree.....IAF pilots are indeed qualified to surrender and land their aircraft perfectly.

Back in 2010, there was a shortage of nearly 600 pilots in IAF, this has been succesfully reduced to 405 (a 30% improvement).
