The age of marriage and consummation are not mentioned in any infallible book. It is not mentioned in the Quran. The numbers are based on Hadith, which are sayings and historical accounts. They are fallible. This is why there is an argument as to whether or not the age mentioned is correct or whether it was a mistake and the age was 19 instead of 9

Secondly, you are talking about something that happened one and half millennium ago. The ages of maturity were different in those times, since life expectancy was much lower and it was normal for people to get married at young ages. For example, It is said that Mary gave birth to Jesus (peace be upon him) at age 12. Clearly, people matured much earlier.

After all Upanishads are also human commentaries (sruti) similar to your Hadith, applicable for a given time period....and most of the English translations out there are quite flawed (given the skewed perception of the translators in many cases).
