That depends......if a country produces indigenous stuff then the growth is good but if a country depends on importing hardware from foreign sources then the growth is no good.

As for China's case....the growth is good because China is cutting down on foreign dependency while cranking out a lot of indigenous hardwares but that is not the case for India.

Well You are wrong here sir, Indian Navy has moved On to Be a Blue water navy with 80% of its stuffs Indigenous.. Indian army on the other hand Is Getting there with the all new Indian Companies Only Tender Passed On by the Govt Of India for the ICV , and The F-INSAS Project and the other MBT projects, as far as Air force is Concerned we do not have any major Firm to Share the work with HAL and NAL so we will still have to rely on foreign Stuffs for IAF Atleast till 2030, As We have two Private firms Emerging, TATA Aerospace and Mahindra Aerospace...

Really , Take My Advise If You have the idea of Becoming a Businessman , Dont, not even in your wildest of Dreams, U know why?? Because R&D in every part is Possible but Why waste money when there are Better Products available.... Indigenous Is when You design a Product, You put the System requirements, You Evolve the technology, Software, and Put all Your Money....

If Your statements are true why does USA call F-18 Indigenous when it assembles It from the parts Made in different Parts of the world???
