Be aware of rape in India. I hope you are not taking your wife or daughters to India. Otherwise, you would not be a responsible father.

I would only go to India on a business trips and I would never, ever take a female member of my family or someone I care to go to India. My sister-in-law mentioned about going to India once. I promptly warned her about the culture of rape in India and she had since reconsider about going there. India its a beautiful place, but at the same time a very dangerous and lawless place. No different than a failed state like Somalia when it comes to tourist safety.

I would request you to edit your part of post where you compared India with Somalia... I have recently visited China at Guangzau and from there went to Dongying Shandong, and felt exceptionally well there. Some of our business partners from USA well amussed to see the development there.. The roads were dust free, and smoth like anything. Drank lot of herbal tea there..

While I say this, there were total 6.3 million foreign tourist in 2011 and must be about 6.7 million in 2012. This is significant amount of tourist to India... Now I dont deny that the misbehaviour and unfortunate things happenned with few foreign tourist but considering this huge amount of tourist majority of tourist were safe. Hence this doesn't make us like Sonalians... Please edit that part....

I am basically from Nagpur... Know each and every place for food stuff.. Was it out side the city or in city itself... Please tell how you felt there... It isn't classy like chinese city, but isn't bad in coparrision to other cities...

You are refering to the great univeristy of Nalanda... We have studied a chapter on Xuanzang in our schooling...

Nalanda is still one of the very old university of Bihar where Xuanzang met with about 3000 monks... Also he travelled to Amaravati and Nagarjunkonda in Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh.. Andhrapradesh (AP) is adjacent state of Maharashtra.. Also Xuanzang travelled to Kanchi Math and many more places... I haven't found any evidence which states that he visited Maharashtra...
