India has one of the world's largest arable lands. In combination with such a favorable weather there that basically if you drops a seed it'll grow sth the next day , any capable people could easily feed their own and have surplus to export to the world - just look at Brazil for an example.

On the contrary, India struggles hard, very hard, amid a sea of starving and mal-nutritious locals.

Without foreign aid, India even can't build a standard stock house to store extra food, yet it's shouting for "a permanent UNSC seat" and "world's largest economy in 2050".

It would be a sheer miracle if India could somehow manage to make more than half of its population have electricity and drinking water in 2050 and the corresponding in-door plumbing by 2080..., in order to step out of the Stone Age it is in. "superpower"? nuff said?

But why Wal Mart ? Indian marts are as good.

there are couple of things in play.
1. Walmart has a knowledge and distribution process setup that spells efficiency = low cost for the public.
2. If Walmart comes in, smaller mom and pop's will be finished - which is a sensitive issue even in the US.
3. walmart employs thousands of workers ( mostly non skilled- which is good for, well, unskilled workers of India). Not everybody gets an education and education is not everything. simply an opportunity to work hard and get trained allows high school graduates in the US to also be promoted to mangers @ walmart in the US- earning good money

here is thing , because of well established ( fact not flame) record of govt of china embellishing , fudging stats on any information that is detrimental to its " image" ( see its cover up of SARs / earthquake as latest fact not flame ). One has no clue what the real stats or situation is in China. Again, as I said in the past- Chinese coming in here to preach about another country giving stats as proof is nothing short of them being hilariously hypocritical.

I'd like to find one person who can dispute that claim. A simple google search will reveal it to be the bone chilling truth.

Show me even 1 photograph of someone that starved to death during Great Leap Forward. 1 photograph. All I ask. I've debunked this using basic statistics over and over again so I won't waste my time, just show me the evidence. Also, using the exact same methods the Wall Street regime historians use to "estimate" this "death toll", the US had 10 million people disappear during the great depression.

Even if true, India has starved 120 million (lower bound) people to death.
