But regarding the misleading title of this thread, it is beside the point. The point is that your Indian govt is launching 3 satellites for a UK company, DMCii, the sats owner.

The reason why DMCii selected India for the sats launch is anyone's guess, but, as many here have speculated, it is probably due to cost.

Satellite imaging is a highly sensitive field. I'm no expert, but approvals from the highest level is probably necessary, especially when those images are taken from a foreign satellite.

BTW, PSLV is second most reliable launch vehicle ever after NASA's Delta and Atlas series.... infact Proton and USSR's cosmos etc. had many failures in between.

There is no better proof as the complexity of success ( as obvious in the case of Proton Rockets ) indeed makes "Rocket Science" the name it has.

Plz dont "Insert" the term "THAN CHINA" , We are NOT making comparison with CHINA.
PSLV is Reliable with 30 launches in a row . PERIOD .

My mention of China wrt India and, for that matter US wrt Russia was to explain how, even after far more Space Milestones, in a Globalised Commercial World, we tend to consider the best option, even if it comes from a rather unconventional source.
