India to export warships to African countries

you couldnt be even more wrong fighting in a area where you dont know the terrain or geographical setting means your the one with the short end of the stick, take for example American soldiers in Vietnam marching in jungles with death surrounding them or the Soviets/Americans in Afghanistan. Guerilla warfare is not easy to combat ya know what i mean?

Sure, but we ourselves are well trained in guerilla warfare..

Good support to the defence industry ...

Its much better for them to look towards Chinese and Russian ones as they are more reliable and capable too.

off-course, they will be looking at those countries as well. They are customer, they are the king. They will go to many shop, they will buy from where they get good deal (In terms of value for money and quality... )

I don think Russia is free to entertain small countries (They are busy in making war-ships for bigger country).

This move by GSL is a good move. The OPVs made in Goa are pretty handy ships and ideal for small African Navies. Both in design and fire-power/capability they can provide a pretty decent "bang for the buck". Additionally GSL makes OSV, OPSVs and AHTs for use in Offshore Oilfields. They should be able to market them to African countries also.
