PANAJI: Looking for export markets for its vessels, defence undertaking Goa Shipyard is offering its smaller size naval vessels to countries in Africa and the Middle East.

In this regard, a Nigerian delegation headed by a senior Navy officer of that country visited the shipyard last week in Goa.

"The visit assumes significance in view of GSL's ongoing efforts to market its state-of-the-art Patrol Vessels to coastal African nations and Middle East etc," the shipyard said.

The delegation was headed by Senator Chris N D Anyanwu, the Chairperson Senate Committee on Nigerian Navy and held discussions with GSL chief Rear Admiral (retd) Vineet Bakshi.

The delegation was also informed about the modernisation programme and progress made thereof, the spokesman said.

Expressing satisfaction on GSL's capability to design and build sophisticated and high value ships, the visiting delegation lauded GSL's efforts to upgrade its shipyard to meet the future defence requirements.

GSL is one of the main shipyards building vessels for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard. The yard has also provided speed patrol boats required for coastal surveillance.

Kamorta Class ASW Coverttes should be exported to Vietnam.

The Chinese Submarines can be checkmated in their own back yard!

Remember to always Fight War in Enemy's Land.

you couldnt be even more wrong fighting in a area where you dont know the terrain or geographical setting means your the one with the short end of the stick, take for example American soldiers in Vietnam marching in jungles with death surrounding them or the Soviets/Americans in Afghanistan. Guerilla warfare is not easy to combat ya know what i mean?

I wouldn't go for anything better than what our coast guard uses, like fast intercept boats. Most African countries can't afford a full fledged navy so the most I can see is something along a line of a coast guard that help out as a navy.

the car nicobar class fast attack craft are cheap and can meet any requirements of the African nations its best that we get as much influence as possible in Africa diamonds, precious metals and many other resources will help us and our economy

patrol boats are understood, what are smaller size naval vessels, will they be equipped with platforms for modern weapons for African countries or the shipyard would build them as per the desire.

The Saryu class boats being made are for India, but if they're marketing their state-of-the-art Patrol Vessels, Saryu class might be the ones they're marketing..

At 2200 ton this "patrol vessel" is bigger than lot of frigates and destroyers of some navies:lol:. 100 Million a pop, they are not very cheap though:confused:

:partay:

Ya, they weigh a lot and cost a lot. I guess if they go for anything it'll be the regular patrol vessels..

this man in dhoti....is he coming to clean the ship?

damn look at our b@$T@rd politicans....and then they say they want to be super-power......:agree:

This is the reason i stopped making comments on the forum except replying to members from Iran, China, Turkey. PDF is infested withe desperate people trying to sound confident about their Pathetic countries and talk **** about India.

My advice to Indian members. don't bother commenting unless it's a technical issue. If you find people distorting facts about India, ignore, because they are deliberately doing it to cause reaction from Indians, there by getting more posts for the Thread and making it rank higher in Google results. It will be a futile effort. There are already enough Posers under Indian Flag to do the dirty job. Don't be fooled. Just enjoy the non sense if you have no other work to do.
Thank you
