India to build structure that will outshine Taj Mahal

Ok...first off this cannot be compared in anyway shape or form to the Taj....

A structure of the magnitude built in a time when "contruction" was not the easiest of things...let alone moving tons of marble from one part of India to Agra for construction cannot just be dismissed....Taj was and is a modern marvel...

The beauty of the Taj is unmatched....
This building is a bloody joke....try harder people...

Taj Mahal is an Indian monument built by Indian craftsmen, Indian money, Indian material and Indian genius. We may have hired some foreigners for getting some work done, it still was always an Indian monument.

While it is OK for foreigners (like we see some from our neighboring countries) to be interested in that global marvel, it was and remains an Indian monument.

If we can build a masterpiece, we can better it.

Can't talk about the amenities offered, but from outside, it is a poorly designed structure. Reminiscent of apartments designed in the 70s and 80s.

The news piece is comparing it with the Taj Mahal for nothing but publicity. Just a cheap stunt to raise the prices.

A few hundred years on and they have not been able to beat Taj Mahal. Remember the pride of India the so called "Taj Mahal" was build by foreign invaders and is based on a foreign architecture. It is a proud symbol of foreign invasions, conquest and subsequent rule.

What soo "hindu" about a sci-fi design seems to be lifted straight out of hollywood? Some one is trying to claim false credit here! Traditional Hindu architecture can be witnessed at some old temples.

After being defeated and ruled over a 1000 years by invaders, the Indians are keen to express that they posses some sort of sci-fi civilization to be proud of.

There are several temples in the South which are much older than the Taj and many times more beautiful and magnificent.

Funny to see the inferiority complex of some converts.

Conversion (even forced) itself is one thing, losing one's identity and becoming a permanent slaves to the invaders who were nothing more than glorified bandits and barbaric marauders is another.

Taj was built by Indians and is a proof of Indian genius. The Mughals from Akbar onwards were a product of the soil of India and were only Indians. They even had Indian blood after Akbar.

Some Pakistani converts want to feel good that their ancestors were ruled by foreigners for a thousand years, the truth is far from it.
