Correct, but considering we're talking about the Geneva convention, don't you think both sides should stop arresting civilians? Having said that, both sides consider these poor people to be spies, so yeah.

Question is correctly judging who is innocent and who is not. India-Pak border is fortified like no other border. So civilians crossing isn't easy job. Still if someone does that Armies on both-sides have a right to be suspicious.

I half agree. I think there needs to be major changes, if soldiers are captured, why not trade them for civilians? My point is that something needs to change.

Thats the Problem here my friend. Yu want something that cant be done.
Solider for civilian.

Innocent Civilian for innocent Civilian is possible. But both govts need to make a treaty for that. And being Ind-Pak its not very likely.

This is why I pretty much say, damn the conventions. It can be done if both sides agree.

And how many times and on how many issues does India and Pak agree with each other ???? that would next to none.

I know some innocent Indians rotting in Pak prisons and I am sure there will be some Pak nationals rotting in Indian jails too.
Case is the prides and egos of my Govt and your Govt dont really care.

At peace time there must be no negotiations only mutual agreements are allowed... There is no mutual agreement is possible here as india is in deffensive position and will give you anything for our soldier(ransom)..
Then the tensions will increase.. This will start a serious of bad actions.. Armies will start even secret raids to make captives for negotiations and retaliation ..
