Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a recent message to Haj pilgrims in Tehran: 'Today the major duties of the elite of the Islamic Ummah is to provide help to the Palestinian nation and the besieged people of Gaza, to sympathise and provide assistance to the nations of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Kashmir, to engage in struggle and resistance against the aggressions of the United States and the Zionist regime, to safeguard the solidarity of Muslims....'
be realistic.......... see how many leaders are coming to india for economic purpose.... even chinese premiere is also coming...india and US are entering into economic relationship, as far as pakistan and iran is concerned, pakistan is the most important non NATO ally of US, providing their military bases to them. this speaks volumes to me, and you think Iran will discard india because of economic relation with US ?? lol to you. further, india has voted 90 % against US in UN. mind ityes a very much important player along with Pakistan and Iran.
i am all for joining hands with these and bringing peace.
No hard feelings , but Iran is giving India a very tough time. No Indian friends in the reigion, Pakistan ? China? Iran? Srilanka? Myanmar? Bangladesh? I dont know how India claims to be a global power while it has a very little influence or friendship in its own region.1-India has a relationship with Israel and with Iran and its not a zero sum game.
2- India went out of the gas pipeline on US pressure, but got a port despite US pressure
3- India voted against Iran in IAEA and voted for it many times in the past.
4- Moreover Iranians definetely wouldnt like the atrocities made by Pakistanis against the brotherly Afghans & Balochis.
I am sorry but now you have given an all together different angle to the problem. It seems you are suggesting that Indian diplomats are not good orator and kind of linking this with relations among countries. I don't want to get into this debate however this is simply not right. We have won way too many friends than enemies. Surely it can't be becuase our babus were rude to people???? Handling a press conference better cannot make you a better diplomat, it is just one attribute...As far as countries relations are concerned then sweet talks cannot win you friends, it is the action on ground....
I hope you can see the difference. B/W don't you think Iran should not have poked their nose in Kashmir??? And New delhi should have responded in some manner??? If yes then what as per you should have been a response???
Yes, its a different angle. As you might know since early 2009 China has bunked its peaceful rise policy to follow what it calls a proactive foreign policy and hence the spats with Japan, India and others.
As a response to Chinese assertiveness there is a realignment of powers and in many ways Obama's current trip was a response to Chinese policy change.
The Chinese claim that they are within their rights to assert their position...however its been 'perceived' as aggresive...and now China is in a catch 22 vis-a-vis Japanese policy as a direct result....

India was an ally because iran was givign employment to thousands of Indians and billions of dollars worth construction contracts.Iran, you just lost one close ally. Iran should understand the implication for mixing politics with religion. Good for us. Indo-Isreal close tie up will help India more than India-Iran relationship.
who said to you that we left iran...at today's voting, india remained absent.....message has been sent...its you who have already left Iran and there is NO use of Indians claiming giving any favour to Iran.

international relationship doesn't change overnight....
and if you want to make relation with iran first try to throw US from ur bases and then talk
New Delhi, Nov 19 (PTI)
New Delhi issued a strong demarche to Iran's Charge De Affairs Reza Alaei expressing its "deep disappointment" over the remarks, which is seen here as "impingement of territorial integrity and sovereignty".
In an apparent tit-for-tat, India, for the first time, abstained late last night from voting on the UN resolution on the human rights violations in Iran. In past, India has always voted against the resolution.
Noting that it was a matter of "serious concern", the sources said these comments have also factored India's decision to abstain from voting on the UN resolution, which was piloted by Canada and several other countries.
In an official reaction, Ministry of External Affairs said "our decision on the vote was made after due deliberation." while 80 countries voted in favour of the resolution, 44 voted against it and 57 countries abstained.
Sources were also quick to point out that even in many Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) countries, there has been no consensus on the resolution and Saudi Arabia in past has voted in favour of the resolution.
Since July this year, Iran has on three occasions remarked supporting the "struggle" in Kashmir and bracketed the situation in the state with that in Gaza and Afghanistan, sources said.
