Social conditions need generations to improve. That means 20 to 40 years.

Kerala had relatively high HDI even before independence. Gujarat did not. In fact Gujarat was a state with 75% migrant population.

HDI does cannot be changed in 10 years dumbass, but per capita income can. Get it ?

kid..this forum is for adults..if ur not able to make a decent discussion then STFU.any reports of ur claims that kerala is developed before independence and gujarat comprises of 75% immigrant population??there are other states which have performed much better than gujarat.even states like odisha and arunachal pradesh improved much better than gujarat from 1996-2006.on the front of social development or even in economic development gujarat is on par with any south indian state except kerala..i understand u like modi and i want him to be our next pm.but i'm not brain washed with publicity nor blind. speak only if u have facts.dont blabber rubbish with me..

Most people in Punjab are doing very well.Land prices are skyrocketing . One acre land which was 2.5 lakhs few years ago ..is now gone to 70 -80 lakh. Although current government is a bit corrupt, But still they are bringing up new roads , flyovers within a span of 7-8 months. My region in Bathinda has seen a lot of infrastructure lately. although I think they could do more specially in power sector. Bottom line is the only poor, I see here in Punjab are immigrants from UP or Bihar. oh and I am not saying that in a condescending way.

Exactly.
I was wondering the same.

In Punjab though people are wealthy, there is much lesser industrialization than states like Maharashtra and Gujarat or even for that matter mining states like Bihar, Jharkhand etc.

There is a lot of disposable income but then this report needs to be defined: are they calculating development on the basis of job creation, industry development, infrastructure development?

Or

Are they talking about personal wealth?

Because either ways, from what I have seen in Gujarat, If Punjab and Haryana are in Green, then there is nothing at all in Gujarat that puts it at 'less developed'.

And I am not saying this because I appreciate Modi's government alone; these clowns have put my state in the same league as his.

We are a quiet, small, clean mountain state with little industry and more of smaller businesses.

How can they categorize us with a state that generates 15-17% of industrial output of India alone? And that too with a state that is power surplus, enabling more and more industrial production compared to other power starved states?
