Just an MA and in Eng Lit. !! You think studying some pieces of essays of some philosophers in a selective way is enough and that can make a person the wisest on earth? Ha ha ha.... what a misconception!!! So you deserve to be a prof in the Cambridge Univ?
No, do you?
I studied vast areas of political philosophy also during my Masters.
You've done a Masters? In what? Political science?
But that was not enough. Even as a Research Fellow I do not even know everything. I am still learning.
That is evident.
I am not an arrogant person like you. I stood first class first. But thats nothing.
Am i arrogant with you? Perhaps, it comes from knowing that i am right and you are wrong.
And its not 'individuality', its called 'individualism'.
Same difference. Tells me a great deal about you.
Your sense of individualism which you call 'individuality' boastfully, is actually laissez faire which is one of the foundational pillars of capitalism.
Oh really? When pray did i even mention Capitalism? My only mention of Individuality was with relation to Descartes. Do you know anything about Descartes Cartesian System? "Cogito Ergo Sum" - "I think therefore i am" - a way of thinking that was arrived at as a result of European Enlightenment, the Renaissance in the 16th century. Although the bourgeois was gaining power at this time, this was a still a feudal society, Industrialization came later.
I mean you love capitalist individuality, iska matlab akela hi sab kuchh nigalna chahteho... how much after all you can eat up?
Read above post.
Although Capitalism uses Individuality to justify its existence, they are not the same. Individualism for me means retaining an individual identity in a socialist environment (Not Communist)
What do you know about post-colonialism?
I had three different papers on Post-Col, so i should assume that i do know
something
What is colonialism? Why colonialism is not imperialism? Is there any difference?
Are you joking? Are you seriously testing my knowledge? You want me to write a thesis?
To give a simple answer, colonialism is also of the mind. A practice that is still going on in former colonies. Fanon's essay - The Decolonization of the mind is an enlightening piece into this phenomenon.
Also read Edward Said's Orientalism. After that talk about post-colonialism.
I have read Said.
Did you really expect me to name each and every theory that i've read, out for you?
Without knowing the preliminary stages, you even studied Rousseau's Social Contract
Rousseau came before Marx or any Post Col theory so i really don't know what you mean. Rousseau was part of the bourgeois uprising against aristocratic rule in France. He's one of the main philosophers of the French Revolution. The next step in enlightenment philosophy.
!!!! What the hell!? How unsystematic syllabi..!!
Yeah right.
Also to know Rousseau you first need to know about Hobbes and Locke.
And what makes you think i don't know Hobbs or Locke? Locke - wrote the first essay trying to comprehend human understanding. His theory was the first to propound that all ideas were either ideas of sensation or reflection.
Hobbs - conceptualized man in the state of nature as one of warfare. According to his work Leviathan, Man was a victim of his inherent passions which without external pressures prevented the established of community. Man for him was governed by strong primal drives of desire and fear.
There ends your daily lesson on philosophy.
How much you know about Derrida? How much you know about his theory of deconstruction? Have you ever read Foucault?
From Hobbs you jump directly to Derrida and Deconstruction?
You do realise that Deconstruction and Post Structuralism are two major theories of
Literature
Reading some poems and proses and plays is not enough to understand Marxist discourses.
Perhaps reading the philosophies of Marx and Engels is, yes??
Get rid of your false sense of pride. A little learning is dangerous.
My patience is running thin. I'm not in the habit of schooling. Look, i get it, calling yourself a communist differentiates you from other members here. Great, but don't act like googling a few items on philosophy makes you some sort of authority on Communism. The truth is, you're hardly a communist.
and if you consider yourself one, stop propounding nauseating assertions on how Chinese and Indian races don't mix or such rubbish, people will start getting a wrong idea about Communism from you.
And you say that you hate India, but aren't you posting from India??
Busted!!
