Pakistanis never had a say on article 370. It was always an Indian internal matter, not a Indo-Pak bilateral matter.

Aug5 ended article 370 as per set legal process requirements. There is no procedure/process to reinstate 370.

India can enact new laws with provisions for greater autonomy to Kashmir and Ladakh union territories including future statehood. Again decision will be internal to India. Pakistanis have no say in this.

Status quo has already changed big time. Interesting how these peace inquiries happened after the Quad meet in Japan.

India has long assumed its northern border would remain quiet... that two front war was just on paper, and never truly prepared for it. That has now changed. Not only this but the Quad isn't interested in a NATO type alliance with India as long as Kashmir remains hot. Multiple negative consequences that Quad can't simply ignore. India can not continue to pursue deep ties with the USA and pretend that Kashmir is a non issue. I believe this was laid out at the quad meeting.

India has to do some soul searching, IMO. Status quo has changed, whether they like it or not.

Your first statement itself is incorrect. This peace inquiry happened in Jan 2020 and not recently .. Pakistan was told Article 370 is gone, and is not coming back, would it like to discuss other issues ? Pakistan said no and that was it.

And all this was before Covid and before LAC flareup or any Quad meetings.

After this India has moved onto bigger issues, Imran Khan and his annual whining at UN about restoration Art 370 and India being a Nazi, Fascist state are the least of India's concerns. Modi does not even bother reply to them.
