India plans to build 100 warships

Hope, you are not seeking a 3rd WW. Whatever India is planning for its navy during the next deacade is large and impressive. But, this is also meant for replacement of some of its obsolete arsenals.

However, this new program has one very strong point. That is India will build many new war ships in its own shipyards. It means if the Indians can keep the quality of workmanship at par with builders of other countries, the decade after next will see a more production of these ships.

It is preposterous to say that Burma will succumb to Indian pressure. Thhis country is China's only direct outlet to the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh is quite dependent upon Chinese arms that also include corvettes, patrol crafts and frigates. BD navy has also another program to procure 4 units of submarines, but from sources other than China.

BD military is at least 25 times stronger than what it was before 1971, when the GoP wanted to use it as a bait in a war against India. Our airforce is weak, but after our navy is built we will also strengthen our AF. Surely, BD cannot compete unilaterally against India with a far weaker force, however, if a war starts it will certainly spread to the land, where BD can use its geopolitically important location to fight against India. I do not think, BD will succumb to Indian onslaught so easily.

India cannot just go and try to take over BD and Burma unless there is a 3rd WW. Rather, it may start the 3rd WW. Whichever political Party is in power in BD, it will have to side with China. A civilian govt that goes against this will certainly be deposed by the military, and die-hard supporters of a certain political party will be summarily executed, so as to stop them from working for Indian interest.

India is increasing its naval strength because it wants to neutralize Chinese presence in the BoB. Burma is giving China a kind of facilitiy there, and BD is waiting for a Chinese assistance to build a multi-purpose deep-sea port in the Bay. This has panicked India to start adding new ships in its naval arsenal. However, with BD sided with China, the BoB will remain off-limit to Indian navy.

The ground reality does not support your theory mate. The Bangladeshi Army is slowly but steadily being cleansed of the Islamic types. These are the main supporters of China in BDA.

And FYI: The other guy was talking about BD and Burma being with India politically. Or bending under political pressure not military. Not talking about India taking over these countries. Lastly, even BD Army cannot stop IA because it wont be supported by its AF and Navy. It cant fight a war and even think of sustaining in isolation.

diego garcia i beleive is a quite far away from the our points of strategic interest. If in future we do have a policy to exert influence in Indian ocean it will be mainly for hydrocarbons and other minerals found in Indian ocean. This would be our primary objective. The US will not have any problem with that. The real problem will be that countries will feel that India is out there to block the sea lines which is why i beleive China has started this pearls strategy ( which i feel India can do in real war)

Just imagine Chinese warships along with bangladeshi warships and a few squadrons of Chinese PLAF/PLANF based in on the Bangladeshi side, are you so confident you'll make lake out of bay of bengal? That was pure nonsense out of you..

lol don't forget by 2014 IN will have 3 carriers airlaunched brahmos,stealth frigate,nuclear attack submarine,and p8i..
think again

Friend y do u think India would even consider attacking BD? What led u to this ?BD is a sovereign nation that India helped a little to come into its own , If India had any such plans it would have capitalized right at the point when BD got Independence. U have noting to be skeptical about when it comes to India.

On topic 100 warships means 10 per year . Well its a decent number but we will need at least 5 ship yard to reach the end target.well i already kno of three ship yards up n running and 1 sub yrd thats getting constructed. his goal seems achievable. Im hopefull:enjoy:

chinese navy to dominate in Indian Ocean itself will be a big hurdle for china :hang2: ... there navy in Bay of Bengal will be a real disaster for them.. we have still Andaman in our fort... and MKI with Brahmos will be stationed there.. Further there is a separate Eastern command naval wing altogether.. and by 2025 every wing will have there own Air craft career..

Please do not mis-interpret things. There is nothing to do with Islamic types in the BD military. We are all Islamic minded. BD military knows very well where to seek its arms, war ships, artillery, frigates, tanks, APCs, fast patrol crafts and others. Most are coming from China. It was probably in 2008, that BD was the largest buyer of Chinese weapons.

Even last month our Naval Chief went to vist China to inaugurate the building of 2 units of fast crafts. China will assist us to build a deep sea port. There are hundred other things. On the other hand, BD has no military relationship with India and nor it is going to happen in the future. Because our military sees India as the future potential enemy.

So, how do you think that we will not side with China in times of their war against India, specially when it is in our Bay? Whether it is a land or a naval war, we will certainly side with China. This is the policy we have been following since the time of President Ziaur rahman. Even Sk. Hasina only a few months after making an unfruitful visit to a hypocrat India, went to visit China.

Never mind, we are weak. But, you can rest assured that no govt in BD can remain in power if it supports India in a war against China. BD military suspects that India's time to time call for a joint exercise in Assam is a ploy to sow anti-China seeds among the participating troops. Don't you see why do we still keep on buying military hardwares from China at great displeasure of India?

You have taken this too far. It's not about war with China or Bangladesh but whether can India apply a policy to exert influence in Indian ocean in regards to economic benefits.

China may have two or three times bigger navy than India, but all their might ends where South China sea ends, even if they send half of their navy to IOR thts still not enough given IOR is close to India not China and Indian navy still have the back up of IAF which Chinese navy dont enjoy, but given the number of hostile navies surrounding China,it is less likely to send even those ships.

If it was like what u guys think China would not be planning for an alternate trade route through Gwadar circumventing Malacca straits, from the straight of Hormuz to the strait of Malacca,it is the breeding ground of both Indian and US navy,China is less likely to tussle with us here, more or less their is even not 1 % chance Indian and Chinese navy will go against each other even in case of a war.

Finally I am impressed by Bangladeshi and Pakistani posters who use China as a bait here on this forum to lure both Indian and Chinese trollers to go on each other while u people enjoying the show.

Let me make it clear if Bangladesh enter in any kind of hostility with India, dont even think China will be their for u,India and China share big economical relation ship with a high amount of trade, dont even think China will jeopardize the business for the sake of a problem which is even not theirs, every nation looks for their own interest, thats how its work, dont let emotion's overrun u who think a third war will be initiated even if a bullet is fired.
